I hope he goes overseas just on principle, although it will probably kill him.  The idea of him driving around Hong Kong in a three wheeled motorcycle with two swords making an X on his back is worth it, though.

I'm sure he'll be signed soon by a contender. It's a matter of which contender?

There is a reason why teams aren't signing west. Low talent, low basketball iq, poor handle for a guard his size, and major off court instabilities. Never liked him as a player, but wish him the best and hope he can make it overseas

I don't think he has either low talent or low basketball IQ. He is a talented player, but has had his injury and off-court issues. There is no way Hinrich is more talented than him and look what he just signed for. I actually think West is a very heady player...don't know where you see the low IQ.

I'm not huge on signing him for because of his injury issues, but I agree with you -- talented back-up with decent BBIQ.

what are you talking bout the guy is a very talented player and has a decent basketball IQ, that's the only reason he managed to stay in the league with all his off-court antics

I've come to find that when some posters don't like a player, they spout anything - even its clearly not true - to support their disliking of said player.

With that said, Mavs are supposedly interesting in bringing him back with the room exception of about $2.5m, but he's looking for a more longterm deal.

Would love Delonte, but a pretty terrible situation for him here at the minimum.  He'd make the minimum to play 5th fiddle on a team that already won't be able to find enough minutes for the 4 guards ahead of him.

I think it's much more likely Dooling agrees to that.

Delonte wanted a long term deal but Dallas wants to maintain their cap flexibility going forward. I imagine he either settles for a one year deal there or moves onto another club for something south of the mini-MLE.

Delonte West and Mikail Pietrus both can make good money playing for lesser teams like Phoenix and Sacremento. The top teams in the league just don't have a lot of room for them right now. This is one of the end results of the new CBA which ironically can bring a lot more parity at the second and third tier teams.
The beatings will continue until morale improves
