If you knew then, what you know now; would you trade the picks?

After the 'Draft', Danny spoke of his attempts to trade up. It sounded like there were teams willing to trade, but they wanted both number 1 picks.  He didn't feel it was worth trading the picks for the players that were available. 

Having the benefit of the Summer League behind us. And, assuming Danny had the chance to trade the two picks for anyone after the first 10 selections, is there someone he  should have traded for?  Or, do you still feel Danny made the right choice? (Let's assume for the sake of argument that Danny couldn't move up beyond the 10th position.

I'll be honest, I didn't watch enough of the other teams play to give an educated answer.  But, two players (beyond #10) that I thought stood out were Andrew Nicholson and Meyers Lenard.  I wouldn't have traded 2 picks for Nicolson, but would have for Meyers.

Anyone else feel Danny could have done better by trading the two picks for any player beyond the 10th spot?

no way. Having two picks and drafting a guy with the skills of Sully and a center with upside like Melo is worth more than trading up for one guy. You cant use summer league play to make real predictions anyway

Sully alone is better than both of those. Sully made OSU a title contender by himself ... what did nicolson do? O right get eliminated in 1st round

In retrospect I might have bought a 2nd round pick and gotten Doron Lamb.

If we knew that Ray was going to the Heat, we'd have gone through with a trade for him at the deadline for a #1, and we'd have 3 first-rounders on our team.

The Courtney Lee vs. OJ Mayo fit can be argued, but a number one with Mayo seems a bit ridiculous to have lost out on...especially in retrospect. I really just wish I knew exactly what happened to make that deal fall apart at the last second...

As for the picks, very happy to have Sullinger - hopeful with Melo, but still would have strongly considered PJIII...

I would have made the trade with the Heat and picked up Perry Jones III to add to Sullinger and Melo.  Frankly, I have no idea why we didn't do that.  

Rondo, Bradley, Green/Jones, Sullinger, Melo in three years or so seems like a pretty good start to me.
