Not sure if people have seen this already. Worth reading though...

I don't get this. There was all this talk of Green's "first, second and third choice" being Boston. We pay him $9m coming off SURGERY, and his agent isn't happy?

I really don't get this.

This is spin.  His agent is ecstatic, but he needs to say this stuff, to take some pressure off of Danny, and make his client look better in the press.  He is trying to swing the story.

13M $??? If he got that in Boston, he would be the 2nd highest paid player on the team. Can't imagine anyone paying him that much.

Pretty much this.

Either that, or Falk is just crazy, which isn't much of a surprise.

Either way, it's not Jeff Green saying it, so I really wouldn't worry about it too much.

BTW, I believe we did pay market value (or even slightly below it) for Green.  I think there are only so many players out there with his combination of talent and age, and some team would have thrown big time money at him.  But I also don't think it was nearly as dramatic as his agent made it sound.

I believe he is overpayed, but I am over it.

Looking at the roster, if players turn out how we hope, I see Ainge in a position to make a big splash trade midseason.   Green's contract, age and potential makes him a good building block to a trade.

This is old news, it has been discussed and posted before.  His agent is play a little defense because his player is being hammered for the amount of money his agent got him.  Of course his reaction will be "other GMs thought we should have got more, this is cheap, blah blah blah"

You are right on Chris.  I'm repeating myself but it's been ignored in all the threads:

Batum!  He is making 4-5 million more for basically the same numbers and abilities.  Possibly more upside but still that much more money.

What are the numbers for the Batum Contract?

jeff green is one of a handful of players in the league that can guard lebron. Anti-Lebrons are rare, and therefore are expensive. we are lucky to have 2 of them on our team.

Actually, I believe the agent, no one isn't going to convince me with the way the market is that Jeff couldn't get 10-11mil! Like the agent said, if it was a significant raise they would have had to go elsewhere (like 5-6m). He said that JG wants to be here (Jeff said so MANY times), so we got a discount! I don't see why people assume he couldn't get 10-11m or heck slightly more... if you base it on coming off that surgery I'd still disagree b/c that surgery doesn't effect you like an repaired injury would. I don't care enough either way, I'm glad we got JG back!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

I don't care if Green is a bit overpaid.  2 things matter: 1) is the contract tradeable v. an albatross; 2) does the contract impact capacity to sign others.
I don't think Green's contract hurts at all.  If Green busts, perhaps, but as long as he comes close to earning the pay, the contract is good.  Also has potential to be a great deal if JG takes a leap ahead.
