I was thinking is there any room for craig Brackins.  He has looked solid in the SL when given a chance.  He was a former 1st round pick, plus he avg. 17pts. 8 reb. in his stint in the D-league.

IMO... I would rather have him then Collins in a simlar role to Wilcox.

I know people will think I am wrong but for now I think Brackins is worth a camp invite.  With Jamar Smith and Xmas already with an invite i would say the 3rd should be a big.  Unless somthing else that can help us win now pops up ( which I dont see happening ) even if it is to stick him in Portland and make him untouchable by other teams and develope with our staff.  Once again another 20 minute game and another 10 points.  So far he is been solid when he got PT in the SL.

He should be given a camp invite. We've moved on from last years young players like Moore, JJJ and Lasme. Brackins is a big body, let's see if he can stick and stash him in Portland.

Not sure Brackins and Collins offer the same thing. Did not see any discipline of evidence of BB IQ. We need someone who can set picks and play interior / post defense. Brackins is not that guy.

Considering that more than half the players in Summer League will not play in the NBA and that he was in the lower half of that group I would not hold your breath.

Not wild about the Collins pick; but it make a certain sense. We need someone to solidify the bigs. A veteran that can work with Melo and Sulinger.

well, if those are what doc is looking for in a back up center, collins is the man. he does play good defense and is smart. but he is not a good rebounder at all.

i guess the celtics cant be too choosey for this price.

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I totally agree with you about giving Brackins a try. He looked good and was very competitive out there. A former first round pick.  If he was our first round pick this year, there would be a lot more interest.

I thought he was really promising coming out of Iowa State.  If you caught him on one of his good games, you would've gotten a good show.  He could score from all over the court which is especially impressive for a PF and was a pretty good passer too.  The problem was he was so erratic; he could look like a lottery pick one game and then like a second rounder/udfa the next.  He was more down than up his junior year.  If he could ever figure out how to be more consistent...

I'm not sure Ainge is looking to stock the end of the bench with potential/upside bigs since he already added two fairly talented young bigs.  Brackins definitely would've been a roster candidate before 2008.
