Still can't beat the Heat!!!

We may or may not beat the cHeat, but we have the best TEAM. The turds in South Beach are nothing close to a team, but an organized cult.

LeBron is a megastar, but while the Celtics had some legs under them, they moved well on offense, and scored consistently. When exhausted, the offensive droughts killed us.

This year we have a deeper team, we have a great bench and all we need is a little health and time to work out the rotation.

We can be a #1 or a #4 seed, but we'll be fighting the cHeat for the Eastern Conference title. No doubt.

We took the Heat to 7 with a M.A.S.H. unit. OKC, with all their fire power, olympians, all-stars and sixth men of the year barely challenged them. Losing Ray and Steamer doesn't scare me in the least. In fact, I'd rather have signed Steamer than Allen.

The C's may not be favored against the Heat, but with their newfound depth, no one would be shocked if they knocked them out of the playoffs.  The key for this year (like every year) is health.  Thankfully this year we are better built to withstand injuries to key guys.

The Bulls are trying to tank as hard as they can, trying to mimic the 1997 Spurs. This plan will fail. They'll make the playoffs, but I'd be surprised if the go any higher than 6th seed in the East.

Danny's goal this offseason was to create depth that concentrates in limiting Miami's ability to go on scoring runs while our starting unit is resting. His combined hopes (in my opinion) are to increase our already tenacious defense and add scoring from the bench unit. I think these were two factors that should give us a better chance at beating them. They are very good and Danny can only do so much to strengthen our core with what's currently available on the market.

Celtics will finish 4th for playoff seeding and will face the Knicks in the first round next year, squeeking by them in 7 games which will match us up against the Heat in the semis.  As constructed how do you see us doing minus any major injuries to either team??

The Heat are one major injury away from being a slightly above average team. Let's wait and see how the season progresses before projecting anything.

Wow. Feels like a lot of you guys are incredibly defensive to protect against the pain another heart-wrenching ECF defeat...

I don't understand any reason the Heat are favored other than the respectable "they're champs till they lose a 7 game series." They are not a better team than us as the rosters stand, right now. Sometimes I think people aren't actually watching these games or don't fully understand what's going on out there. Lebron beat us when we had absolutely nothing left in the tank. We defend Lebron, the other jamokes don't go off for the best & only huge performances of their careers, and we win in 6.

I think it's easy to forget that OKC just flat out laid down... they weren't ready for the bright lights... and got demolished. OKC was the better team, they just didn't have the chops to get it done. It was Lebron's time - he was hungrier and better prepared to seize the moment.

For those that believe the Heat are still far better... or we are even 3rd in the East right now, at best!!!!... please share your reasoning (from A BASKETBALL STANDPOINT, with on-court specifics). I would really like to understand better. Maybe I'm missing something and I've set my expectations too high.

Nobody knows anything, from Terry's success to Sully's, to Ray's health in Miami and Lee's impact. Jeff Green's health either, if he plays 75 games it's a totally different team. What if he buds inot a terrific defender? Stranger things have happened. I think the whole league is a coin flip, especially in the East. It's a crap-shoot.

excuses? no but we had almost no depth and we took them to 7. its not the same as "losing to the heat."

Chris bosh missed half the series and wade was on a bum knee. Doesn't matter how we lost the point is we lost, again.

Yea, and without Bosh, the Heat were up 2-0 heading into game 3, so that argument is false. I'm not buying that false excuse of an argument of Bosh or Bradley being the difference maker. Bosh returned for game 5 and the Heat still lost. The Celtics without Bradley had a 3-2 lead going into game 6, but loss because they played poorly. It's just unfortunate both Heat and Celtics fans as well as some in the media couldn't see the truth.

Last season was a different story. This my seem like a contradiction, but the roster, Ainge assembled during the second half of the 2011 regular season was not defeating Miami or Chicago. Danny Ainge took a huge gamble trading Perkins and dismantling a majority of the bench.

C'mon now, lol...according to many of us here, and ESPN - MIA was supposed to slaughter us.

Stephen A Smith seemed to think so.

I guess nobody told BOS that.

After last year, I'm thinking the LAST team MIA wants to face in the playoffs next year is - Boston (with AB, Wilcox, Jared, Jeff Green,etc).

BOS will come back with more ammo for MIA next time.

I think that Ray Allen, sadly, will be on the rcvng end of an upset.

we lose Ray. Mind you Ray was awful vs whatever thoze guys will be. And we barely lost. And Celtics bloggers don't see us as better than Mia? really? Im only worried about rebounding personally
