Charlotte own pick top 12 protected or to Bulls. They have Gordon,Hendo don't need Avery. Plus they might win some games this year. MKG,Sessions,Haywood,Gordon.

Cleveland drafted Waiters, they own Sacto pick top 13 protected, Will likely get Miami pick and Lakers, they Owe their own pick to Phoenix but could swap it with either Lakers,Miami or Sacto. They aren't good to trade with.

Detroit sent their pick to Charlotte, top 14 protected so that puts them out.

Golden State Pick top 6 protected to Utah, but no player outside of top 2-3 is worth it next year.

Sixers pick top 14 protected to Miami, don't know if they're tanking but it almost never works.

Sacramento own pick top 13 protected to Cavs, they are out.

Raps own pick top 3 and 15-30 protected to Houston, any pick outside of top 3 is crap.

Hornets, I think they Will have the worst record in the league, too thin upfront and already has Gordon and Rivers, they don't need Avery. But I doubt they win the lottery back to back.

Only team that might trade with us: Phoenix Suns

Phoenix really wants a SG, they amnestied Childress, they have one team that might finish bottom 3 in the west with the Hornets and Kings

Just by looking over the rosters in the west I couldn't see many teams worse than theirs. Sure they have Scola but he's declining and Marshall might backup Dragic. Beasley isn't that good.

This draft is weak outside top 2-3, If we are lucky they win the lottery and we draft Nerlens Noel. The pick must be unprotected or in the worst case 5-14 protected.

In the East I think the worst 3 teams Will be Charlotte, Sixers and maybe Magic depending on what happens there.

So Phoenix might be bottom 5-6 team. Avery is worth a lottery pick in next years draft.

so let's see if I have this straight, you want to trade someone that's shown they can provide defense at a level the really disrupts the other team and has shown he's developing his shot and has an understanding of moving without the ball on offense BUT you want to move him for a chance at an unknown player next year in a truly crappy draft.   ::)

There is no way that any team trading a first rounder makes a deal with an unprotected draft pick without making the receiving team wait years for any protections to expire.  that's just the teams that don't expect to be in the lottery, never mind the ones that know they're going to be there for years.

Its something to look at after this season, but we need to see how he responds to his surgery and if he can replicate his stellar play of late last year.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
That depends on two things.

1.) If Kentavious Caldwell-Pope goes, and is gonna have a good season and be a lottery pick. The guy has AB like defensive potential. And taller.
2.) If he'll be in the range where we could land him. Say teens, i doubt AB would net a top 10.
(i like as a player)

Personal feeling aside, maybe it depends. I mean we got Lee locked up for a few years, while Bradley is an elite defender, Lee is not too far away. We got Jet as a backup 1/2. It will depend on who's on the board.

Right now outside of LeBryan Nash and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (im basing off potential), I don't see anyone that is of equal value to AB's defense. It's not like we can get a pick that would land Shabazz, Nerlens Noel or Cody Zeller. So those are the names that I believe,is worth the gamble to trade AB for. But we still have to see. Other than that, we should keep 'em.

+1, Noel grew up in Boston and loves the c's(from his twitter). He is going to be an Ibaka type

Why did we resign KG and sign Terry if we are going to trade away contributors for draft picks? Management decided to try to remain competitive. This is not the kind of move they will do right now. They aren't going to give up a good NBA player for this season for a pick for next season -- or later if there is protection.

We would also end up relying on a vet min backup guard to take his spot.

Who is going to give up a lottery pick for Avery Bradley?  I mean seriously.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

The only thing I'll say is  ::)
"If somebody would have told you when he was playing with the Knicks that Nate Robinson was going to change a big time game and he was going to do it mostly because of his defense, somebody would have got slapped."  Mark Jackson

I can't see how it works for anyone.

Teams will be worried about his health and whether he was a one-hit wonder last year.

And we can't know what we're getting at this point.  Even a lottery pick is no guarantee to work out.  Just ask Michael Olowokandi and Kwame Brown.

If teams were willing to give up a lotto pick for Avery... we probably would have traded him during the draft.

He doesn't have the same value outside Boston as he does here.

If Danny decides that AB's ceiling is lower than people think, I could see Ainge trading him. Just don't think we are at that point. I actually think AB will have a worse year than most on the board, but will bounce back overall. Basically C's in worst spot possible to trade him.

I think it'd be more likely that you trade him for an established All Star a team doesn't want to pay. Before people wig out - I don't think this specific example would work, but it's the kind of trade where moving AB would make sense:

AB, Bass, 1st rounder for Josh Smith.

You have no idea what teams would have traded for Avery Bradley.
