2short, Silas, I am old enough to have seen both Silas and Howell play. Odom when "Healthy" is a dominating player! His skills are more that Silas or Howell. Silas was a excellent all-around player, tough and smart on the court. Howell was a reclamation project thought to be washed up until Red took a chance. Odom is a young talent, but damaged. If he can get past the injury curse like a Brandon Roy or if he can't like a Sam Bowie we will see? But this kid is far from washed up and if we get a chance to sign him he could be a part of a center combination for years to come. We could make a very cheap investment that could pay off for a decade?  Too much talent, too much "REAL" upside to ignore!

I expect there wont be a true five in five out second unit. I expect some interesting substitutions and a lot of small ball.

ex

starting
Rondo
AB
Pierce
Bass
Kg

small lineup
Rondo
Terry
Lee
Green
KG

Big Lineup
RR
Pierce
Green
KG
Wilcox/Sully

Shooting
Terry
AB
Lee
Pierce

If the C's can sign one more competent big man, that's a helluva squad Ainge and Rivers have put together. The positional and line up versatility has enormous potential.

  • Strength from Within
Vs. 2008
Eddie House/Sam Cassel < JET / Dooling?
Tony Allen < Courtney Lee / AB
James Posey < Jeff Green
Leon Powe / BBD < Sullinger / Bass
P. J. Brown > ???

The only problem is the starting unit:
2008 RR < 2012 RR
2008 RA > 2012 AB/CL
2008 PP > 2012 PP
2008 KG > 2012 KG
2008 KP > 2012 CW

That is why you have to love the flexibility and complementary nature of so many of the players. Will be very tough to beat.
