Przybilla is a player I've always really liked - big, physical, tough, and doesn't mind doing the dirty work down low. I know that he's missed a lot of time following his knee injuries in 2009 and 2010, but he was a good rebounder and shot blocker before those injuries.

I'm not sure how well he'd fit into our defensive system, nor am I certain that he has returned back to his pre-injury form.  However, given our need for size, I'd love to see this guy with the C's for the vet min.  If he can stay relatively healthy (yes, I know, a big "if"), I can see him playing spot minutes when we need a tough, physical center down low.

He won't have delusions or complaints pertaining to his role like JO (JO thinks he can drop 20 points on any given night if he's given the opportunity... whatever you say, buddy).  I also consider him an upgrade over most of our centers last year.

Thoughts?

I'd greatly favor this one over the knucklehead Blatche. Danny please sign this guy.

I wouldn't mind Przybilla at all.  Even after multiple knee surgeries and a long time off, he was still a very good rebounder last season.  He would help with something that's likely to still be a big weakness.

After all the injuries, I think Przybilla is roughly comparable to a Jamaal Magloire or Eric Dampier level third string center ... and I'd take each of those guys over him because they carry less of an injury risk.

So, I would say I have some interest. Mild interest. In Przybilla as a backup option to them as a power based third string center.

Could be a good option.

I also wouldn't hate Nazr Mohammed, Semih Erden, or even taking a flyer on Ben Wallace, who could be rejuvenated in a new environment.

None of these guys are going to be stellar, so that's something w should all realize right away.

In other news, old friend Tony Battie is back on the market.  I wouldn't take him now, but Battie's former self (about 10 years ago) would be useful as a backup.

What is the story with Ben Wallace? Has he retired?

I thought he had retired.

I think Hamed Haddadi would be another interesting target.

Could we afford Aaron Gray and is he available?

Also, with Haywood now on board, what are the chances that Diop gets bought out in Charlotte?

I realize he has been a popular name on the site for years ... .but seriously, another injury risk at the 5 would be awful. After Perkins, Shaq, JO ... . Steamer's foot, the last thing we need is an injury prone center.

I listed his name in another thread as an option, but thinking more about the injury risk . .. I think healthy Steamer, Darko, Blatche, Krylo, Gray (too pricey?) are better options.
