What an interesting stat...  Apparently, Linas Kleiza was the #1 post defender in the NBA last season.  Apparently, folks trying to post Kleiza turned the basketball over at almost the same rate as they made a bucket.

The CrotoNats Reunited would like to make it clear that although we both agree that Chik Fil A is yummy and delicious, we in no way endorse the political leanings of their president.  8)

I wonder if that's due to sample size. How many minutes did Kleiza play post defense?

He's very strong, I know. Perhaps he should play PF behind LeBron, instead of Brand?

For those who have a top 5, 6 7 player in the league, you know, the D12, CP3, Lebron, Wade, KD, Kobe....what, in an ambiguous way of stating it, is the least you would and should take for that player?

I putting this out there because if or when I trade Westbrook, I don't want people thinking I gave him away on purpose and I want people looking to trade for him to understand what a top 6,7 player in the world is worth.

Also, I will be in chat so come there and let's talk.

I think Lebron and Durant would basically be untouchable.

For the next tier of stars, I'd probably want two star-level players (but not superstars), preferably one at the same position.

Of course, I think I'd hesitate before pulling the trigger on any superstar trade, because talent wins in this league.

For Wade I'd want the equivalent of a player I'd pick ahead of him or slightly behind him. Plus a little extra depending on the fit and pieces involved.

For Westbrook, the equivalent of two early 2nd rounders or two late firsts, with the guys trading Westbrook giving almost nothing else back. That's if I was resigned to trading him.

But with Westbrook's age, there are a very very small handful of guys I'd even consider in return for Westbrook if I was 'blowing it up'. With Derrick Rose out, who are the healthy better younger players?

I'd take Westbrook over Griffin, Irving, Davis..there isn't a young guy I'd trade him for straight uP in the league probably, aside from.Lebron or Durant.

I might trade Wade for like..Dirk and Duncan. Something like that, buts it all about preference and taste.

*Taking off GM hat*.

I would take Irving over Westbrook at this point.  I'd probably take Westbrook over Griffin, although it's close.  I have no idea what to think of Davis.

I don't have one of those players but I would say something along the lines of:

In terms of tiers, I think there is a (1) top four (2) then a top 15 (3) then a top 20-22 (3) then a top 35 (4) Then a top 50. Something like that. So ...

(1) Top 4 player for top 4 player
(2) Top 4 player for top 15 player and a top 35 player
(3) Top 4 player for two top 25 players and a top 50 player
(4) I wonder if a top 4 player for 3 top 35 players and a player who is top ten at his position (top 50) would work. Yeah, I think that be workable.

Something like that ...

All that said, I wouldn't have Westbrook in that top tier. If you can get anybody in a straight swap taken in the top 15 picks (plus maybe Melo or L.Aldridge) for him, I think that is a workable trade.
