  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.

Come on, stop it with the rape jokes. They're tacky and unnecessary. And kind of mean.

Agreed.

How telling is it that IP, the one who's work spawned these thoughtless rape corollaries, is the one to call them out. (I 1000% agree by the way)

A class act.

I don't think it's any surprise a GM like IP -- pleasant to work with, thoughtful -- gets the most out of his trades.

I appreciate the thoughts, but if I was a real class act, I would've made that remark via PM. And that's my bad.

And I think this is also where this should end, the thread turned a bit personal mostly fired by my rhetoric, and that's my fault.

I'd appreciate it if we could go back to making jokes and talking about trivial stuff now. Didn't mean to take this in the direction we're in now at all.

Seems a little late for that. The masses have continued this discussion without any control or supervision by the mods. I even blatantly made a rape joke above the others just to see if anyone noticed, but it went unchecked.

Rape jokes on CB: worth a good chuckle for a couple pages, as well as indirect attacks.

Stating CB doesn't allow free speech: Threats from multiple mods about being banned.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

First off the jokes were addressed not only by a mod but by several members.  Second, criticism of trades aren't attacks if that is what you were referring too

While I apologize for the "rape jokes" -- which is a ridiculous characterization of them -- I think that we're witnessing a lot of false outrage.  Either that, or we've encountered the 99th percentile of most sensitive folks in America here on the internet.  It wouldn't be the first time, I suppose.

Like I said, I think it says a lot about IP's skills as a GM that he can royally screw over another GM and get thanked for the favor.  That's Mitch Kupchak-esque.  (I would say Auerbach-esque, but nobody liked Red.  They knew they were going to get screwed, and they dealt with him anyway.)

Huge steal for IP.  I'll be voting for his team all the way to the championship, which is inevitable at this point.

What are you Tosh.O? Don't apologize it was hilarious. And if there's anyone who has earned the right to be slightly perverse around here it's you. That said, I think you are overrating Pierce at this point in his career or severely underrating the guys traded for him. Injury sminjury, #34 was garbage for the latter part of the season into the playoffs last season while Dudley and Pekovic had great up-and-coming years.

I think you’re building IP’s reputation as a swindler is what you’re doing, that way there he’ll have as tough a time as you going forward.  ;)

SMH I was going to praise you for somewhat defending the trade at least how I saw it and without IP's trickery that involved lying and "rape". Not to mention, having x,000 posts allows you to act in such a manner unacceptable for others.

However I can still give you credit for showing the blatant support of one mod by another.  ;)

Haha.  Your theory is that the reason I'm so down on the trade is because I'm propping up IP?

I don't think I've ever paid IP a single compliment since the inaugural CB Draft.  Insulting IP's team is kind of my schtick.

I encourage the "rape jokes", everyone seemed to have a good chuckle. I'm sure sodomy wouldn't be taken as likely if it involved some family members? But then again I'm a "nice guy" and I just wouldn't do that.  ;)

Someone had the right mind to defend this trade while I was worked up. I don't know "man", but I feel I can't win either way with you so perhaps I pulled the trigger on the trade just for amusement.  ;D

IP is right some of the time.  He's right about Kyle Lowry, and he's mostly right on Ersan Ilyasova.

I like to reminisce about his Biedrins / Big Al front line that he fell in love with, though.  Or Nate Robinson as a big part of the rotation.  Or his Travis Outlaw infatuation.

It's almost as amusing as my love affair with Rashard Lewis or Michael Redd.  (Sorry for naming names, but none of those guys are going to be drafted any time soon.)

IP has become the best GM in this game.  He's not abrasive like me or you (nick), but he's got no problem taking advantage of others.  [Insert "rape" joke here.]  My reaction to seeing somebody pulled off a trade with IP:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_KqqRPvM_Sw [warning for language, innuendo, and "rape" jokes.]
