I just hope he makes some funny comments about me while i'm AFK (australian kite flying?.... still lost on that one) tomorrow and that that draws Champkind and THE walker wiggle into a flame war about the dialectics of foul shooting and if my team will have enough fingers for their collective championship rings....

Since the trend is asking folks what they think of their pick, I like to be in as well.

Any thoughts on Anthony Randolph. Anything, it'll really help.

Personally I don't like it, at all, in any shape or form.

Anthony Randolph hasn't produce since he had a handful of great games a few years ago. 2 or 3 years ago this pick would've make a little sense, but now, just not a fan.

Well he had limited playing time. Last year he's pretty decent when he's getting playing time with at least 20 minutes a game. He gets to start in this team.

He rebounds well and shoots well under the rim. Plays good defense and quick enough against face up forwards, and he has length. He's not a consistent mid range shooter but he has it. And he hasn't been in a team for long stints.

He's consistently had limited time on teams that are terrible. There's a reason for that.

I just saw this and was not able to reply back right away. I feel I need to defend Randolph here.

He consistently had minimums time? He averaged 20mpg in in his 2nd year and almost 20 in his first year with the Wolves. And then his minutes declined because Love is playing MVP type, you can't Love's minutes I he's playing like that, something has to give.

He also played behind MVP level Amare, again the same thing.


What I dont understand is, how is it that there's a warm reception on Taj Gibson (no disrespect CFF) and everyone thought Randolph is a bad pick, when, after I did some research, their production is close to similar...?

15 minutes/game, 7.4ppg, 3.6rpg, 1.0bpg, 47%FG, 17.60 PER



So, both got picked in the fourth round. Pretty much the same production last year, and yet Gibson is a "great value" while Randolph is a "bad pick"?

I don't get it. Is it because Gibson is a much more household name which is by everyone likes him?

Here's the issue with Randolph:  we're in the fourth round.  Presumably, most teams will be drafting the fourth best player in their rotation, somebody they expect to be playing 30 to 35 minutes per game.

Randolph isn't that guy.  He's a 15 per minute guy who has played 4 seasons and hasn't shown himself to be more than that.

I'm not sure that he's comparable to Gibson, if only because Gibson is a very good defender who carved out a significant role on a championship contender.  While I probably wouldn't want to build around Gibson, either, he's more likely to fill a role than Randolph is.

I don't think Randolph is a bad guy to draft.  I just think he's a bad guy to draft in the fourth round, where you need a sure thing.

Every morning when I get in the car I turn on WEEI and this week I have fully expected them to be talking about the CB draft....lol
