Yup, just did the math and the average age of our team (assuming we do indeed get Lee and keep Kris Joseph on for the year) would be 24.8 years old.

Our youth last year was kind of underrated too.

But I think a weighted average with minutes is more meaningful.

It looks like a lot...but can we ever have enough depth...especially on this team?

What's the parity in ability though? We're looking at a decent backup center vs. Darko Milicic and Andray Blatche?

Don't forget we have Wilcox back. The nightmare of a broken footed Stiemsma and Hollins as our only big men depth is pretty much officially over.

While Wilcox/KG/Bass/(possibly)Sully isn't the most impressive lineup, it sure beats the hell out of KG/Bass (neither Stiems nor Hollins really played much towards the end of the Bos vs. Mia+Refs series).

We aren't getting a starting center, not with what we have left for trade options or salary exemptions.  Sully will be in the rotation, probably the first big off the bench (KG and Bass starting), with Jeff Green getting some minutes at PF and Chris Wilcox in the mix as well.  

Since we now have pretty good depth in the backcourt, I'd really like to see them use the BAE on another big, another guy who's got a little beef in his backside and six fouls that you'll remember.  I think Melo can develop into that player, but you really can't have too many bigs around.

But, as to the OP...  the C's have quietly rebuild a pretty decent, youngish core.  Pierce, KG, and Terry are all on the older side, but you've got a nice balance of youngish vets (Rondo, Lee, Green, Bass, Wilcox) and some interesting very young players (AB, Sully, Melo).  They're still lacking a youngish go-to scorer, but not every team in the league can have a Kevin Durant. 

The team isn't going to be as reliant on guys like JO and Shaq and Ray Allen and 'Sheed and other guys on the last legs of their careers.

Developmental Youth: Sullinger, Melo and Joesph

Very balanced roster so far, and three more slots to fill.

Great way of breaking it down. No surprise that Lee, Green, Bass should all be entering their prime right now.

Yeah he's going to play around 8- 13 MPG like Davis did in all odds.

Minutes weighted average age is a better measure than just roster age.

Given that PP/KG are going to be clocking in 30+ minutes per game at the SF/C spots respectively most nights we'll be a good deal older than that on the court.
