im sure we will pick up a veteran or two...but this team is deeper, younger, more athletic than last year.

Yep. I guess the hacks that pass as sports journalists are going to have to come up with a new theme when writing columns about the Celtics this coming season.

Very pleased to have a young core of quality players locked in for the next several years. The Rondo/Bradley/Lee backcourt rotation should be a real strength of the team going forward, and Bass and Green, while subjects of intense debate on this format, are unquestionably rotation-worthy players.

Hoping that we can add Sullinger, Melo, and Joseph to the list, but we're a long way from knowing that.

With two of our top three players among the oldest players in the league still playing at a star level I think the theme will prevail.

Off the top of my head Duncan and Dirk and Nash are the only other guys in their age group playing such a large role.

Experienced Young Vets:  Bass, Green, Lee and Rondo

Developmental Youth: Sullinger, Melo and Joesph

Early last season we struggled because we were playing  too many older guys too many minutes together.  We needed to mix in more younger guys with better quickness and speed with our veterans title winning pedigree. Once we did we started winning with consistency and looked once again like a legitimate title contender.  

I'm thrilled Ainge has continued to mix youth and NBA title winning veterans into the roster. You need both to truly be competitive in today's NBA.
