Why not? He can play, I'm sure he'd be a fine 'clubhouse' guy... he's tough and has played in big games.

IMO too fragile, of questionable contribution to the locker room and off the court--which matters more with so many young players!, and not enough size and bulk to provide the wing defense they need.

That's my guess, otherwise based on his talent and play level I'd be happy with adding him.

But given that we let him go for Dooling essentially last year I have a feeling that what Rondo2287 says above is the case.

Yup. And while Danny didn't say it Mike Gorman did in a WEEI radio interview. We'll pass.

West isn't a bad idea.  Once Bradley comes back, the need for a 2-guard largely diminishes since Bradley and Terry (and possibly even Pierce for 5-10 mpg) will largely consume the 2 guard minutes.  So as long as West starts the season healthy and comes back for the playoffs, if he missed a stretch in the middle of the season, it wouldn't be that big of a deal.

Similarly, I'd be absolutely on board with bringing back any of our guys from last season in the following order: Pietrus, Daniels, and Pavlovic.  You can make the case for Moore or Christmas over them, but all three guys contributed more than he did last year and all three guys have the size to defend 2s and 3s, which neither Moore, nor Christmas has.

Overall, I'd still put Courtney Lee as option 1, but any of those including West could be useful, especially given the fact we only need significant contributions for any of them for the first month or two of the season.

I think two years of Sasha glued to the bench through the playoffs is enough.  Doc simply won't go to him when it counts, and when it counts is when we need his size and ability to guard the LBJs of the world.  I'd be fine with Pietrus back, but only at the minimum and I'm guessing he'll be aiming for more.

I don't entirely disagree with you.  Clearly he didn't play in the playoffs, but that was largely because we had better options in Pietrus and Daniels, who I ranked ahead of him on my list.

Still, if neither is willing to come back (though I have a tough time imagining Daniels wouldn't leap at any offer), I'd consider Pavlovic.  He had a nice stretch towards the end of the season for us.  He could also step in right in the short term with a relatively small learning curve.

Furthermore, it's unlikely anyone we get to fill that role outside of Courtney Lee is going to really see court time in a playoff game.  Come the playoffs, all of the 1-3 minutes should easily be consumed by Rondo, Bradley, Pierce, Terry, and Green.

I'd pick him up just for the simple fact that I could throw him on the floor with LeBron, mess his head up.

I would definitely pick up Delonte, if it wasn't for his injuries. He just can't stay healthy for a full season.

I watched all of MAVS games last season and he played well with Jason Terry. They both handled the ball and had a nice two man game. I'm surprised his name hasn't really been mentioned in the free agent talk on any websites. He had a good year last year once his playing time and role was established.
