Can we look back on all the JO hate threads and see who the apologists were? I remember some pretty awesome defenses of this nancy. Where are you all now?

Ha, my thoughts exactly!

What an ungrateful piece of crap that guy is. Would love to see him take up a spot on the Lakers.

Hoping (against hope) that the Lakers DO sign him!  A waste of skin and an oxygen thief....

Uh, what role could have fit him better?  He was a starting C on a team that didn't run much and didn't need him to score.  All he had to do for this team is rebound, play defense, and finish when Rondo sets him up.  His defense was decent but he sucked at everything else.

Just not a good player at this point in his career.

Jermaine O'Neal said that Boston wasn't a good fit for him. He's looking forward to finding a situation where he can have a better role.

If this was a facebook status, JO's accountant would like it

  • It's all about the TEAM!
Wow, the irony of having both JO and Dwight Howard rumors on the same team on the same day!

Is this really happening???

I'm guessing that JO's "better role" language is code for "play for a team whose fanbase doesn't have a pathological need to make me the whipping boy/scapegoat for everything bad that happens."

Reading this thread, you'd think JO molested some of your pets or something. Some of you exhibit signs of some sort of scatological fixation. It's pretty sad.

BTW, not that his haters care, but here's what he said:

“Well you have to go somewhere where you really fit,” O’Neal said. “That’s just how it is. I had a fantastic time in Boston, an unbelievable sports town, fans and organization. But it wasn’t necessarily the best fit basketball wise. Your comfort level is everything. Sometimes when you’re asked not to worry about some of the stronger parts of your game, which is scoring, and only [focus on] defense, that’s difficult to do.

Buss just said on NBAtv that JO is going to be with on the Lakers bench this year...that JO wasn't satisfied with his last year's performance with the Celtics and wants to prove he can still play.

He thinks scoring is a strong part of his game  :o.

Has he ever watched himself play?

Exactly wow.  Not that he can't score but his calling card was always defense.
