I would think Denver would jump at turning Brewer into a 1st rounder.

I'd prefer to sign Rodney Carney and keep next year's first round pick.

Boston Trades:
JaJuan Johnson
E'Twan Moore
Sean Williams
2013 top 20 protected 1st (with protection decreasing each year)

Denver Trades:
Corey Brewer

Why for Boston: Brewer is a solid defender at the 2 and 3, and really blossomed offensively last season. He's no Ray Allen, but a lot of the stuff he does do (defense, spot shooting, rebounding) are things our other 2's aren't so great at.

Why for Denver: Despite Brewer's improved play last season, he hasn't proved to be more than a 1 hit wonder and got absolutely abused in the playoffs. Plus, between Arron Affallo, Gallinari, Chandler, and newly signed Evan Fournier, they've got enough depth at the 2/3 so that there isn't much good that can come from Brewer being there. They get a project 4 in Johnson, and 1 year deals making up the rest of the salary, as well as a late 1st round pick.

Denver would NEVER do this.  I appreciate the effort though.  TP.

Yes they would. Denver has plethora of young wings on their roster, and they just drafted another one. Keep in mind Brewer is in his final year. Getting back two 1st round picks for Brewer at this point is more than they bargained for

If we changed the deal to include Chris Andersen instead of Brewer, Denver would absolutely do this deal.  They have been thinking about amnestying him.  I would consider that, but I would have a hard time giving up so early on JJJ for the Birdman.

That's the way I saw it. In order to get Brewer they traded a 2016 second round pick. No lies.

I mean, we could even alter the deal to Charlotte's second rounder that we own, and I still think Denver would do it.

denver also drafted quincy miller, a much more promising version of jjj. He will def be on their roster.

The time to trade our 2013 first was during the draft, for a second rounder.

I'd love to get Corey Brewer here, either through something like this or as a signing next year.  Seems like a good fit for the team philosophy.

My bad fellas.  Even though you cleary wrote Corey Brewer, I was picturing Afflalo in my head.  I have no idea what I was thinking.  Sorry about the confusion.  Now that I have the right guy in mind, I definitely think the C's would be giving up too much.  Brewer would be an asset as he would start at SG until Bradley gets healthy, but I think we'd be sacrificing too much with a 1st rounder and JJJ, both of whom could become factors down the road.

Do the Cs really want a wing who misses about 3 out every 4 non-layups?    His 27.8% non-layup shooting is pathetic.  Brewer runs the floor like a jet, and is a good defender,  but playing him and Rondo together gives the Cs almost perimeter threat.

Boston needs a wing who can hit open shots.  Brewer certainly isn't that guy.

must be me but the "Why for Denver" is exactly the "Why NOT for Boston".

I was a big advocate for Corey Brewer when he was drafted but this kid has grossly underwhelmed me since he entered the league.  C's need a certified scoring guard off the bench besides JET.  Brewer ain't it.  Would rather have Pietrus back than Brewer.

I think you kinda missed him last season. He was very capable for Denver. Not much of a 3pt shooter (he had been better, last year was tough), but a very useful all-around player.
Sorry IP but I don't put much stock in a player that has a mediocre year after years of disappointment.  Let him have a few good ones and then I might consider him a better option than Pietrus.

Certainly wouldn't give up a young big man to get him (certainly one that hasn't been through a single training camp) nor would I give up a future 1st for him (protected or not).  Sean Williams and Moore, probably.

The Birdman will continue to fly in Denver

I'd love to see if we could land him. Even if his taunts after blocked shots do drive me nuts.
