  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Bird is from Indiana....lol what do you expect?
I'm not sure making stereotypes about drinking is a good thing on a BOSTON forum!
Most people don't fit stereotypes. I'm from the South and we drink a lot. Many people in the US do and some hold theirs better than others. No harm intended.

We here in Wisconsin never go thirsty.

See that little part of NY at the top that is red, right on the Canadian border?

That's me. We keep it gangster.

So we know why you have so many posts, IP. There ain't nothing better to do in Upstate NY in the dead of winter and blog by the fireplace. Or you could watch college hockey which is never a bad thing.

I had a timeshare in Appleton Arena (home of the St. Lawrence University Saints) growing up on Friday and Saturday nights.

But you're right. Winter sucks. I hate winter. Hence the drinking.

Larry - come talk to me when you can drink a 5th of Crown in a, let's say, five-hour evening of social drinking - which i could do easily in my 30's & 40's or maybe a half-gallon during an entire day starting at say noon - and, yes, i am scotch-irish.

whiskey + mt. dew, now that is southern drinkin'.
beer is for college kids.

unfortunately, or probably fortunately, i'm not able to drink like that now in my 50's. my body just won't tolerate the frequency or the amount anymore.

"Budweiser? That stuff's turrible." One would think that Budweiser is Chuck's favorite beer. (weight)
My pic is now, and will be Fab Melo until he posts his first official NBA dbl-dbl. This may be permanent.

Did you just seriously try to prove your maturity by stating that you drink Mountain Dew???   :P

In Larry's defense, there's no evidence that he even reached his limit.  He and Chuck drank enough that Chuck blacked out.  Larry carried him home.

Still, I don't see Larry Bird as a whiskey drinker.  I just hope he's moved to something a little more flavorful than Budweiser in his old age.

I'm half-German half-Irish. It's over for anyone else.

I figured Bird for a beer drinker, he is good ol boy yankee styled redneck from French Lick,  small working class town. Not exactly  the arts and croissants region of the world.

Bud is pretty tame beer compared to some of the stuff I drank in college.

try downing 6-8  OLD ENGLISH 800's some night and see how ya feel next day.

Hoot.  The only time in my life I ever in my life got drunk was on Old Thompson and Fresca....45 years ago!  To this day, just the smell of Fresca makes me sick.   :-\  (But it did cure me of any inclination toward drinking.)

Budweiser is not even close to being the strongest beer.  EKU 28  was at one time like 28 alcohol.

Drinking Budweiser is like having sex in a canoe... it's f***ing close to water!

I thought he had brought this up before, and the story was that Larry had to physically carry him back.
Now we know the real reason Larry had a bad back.
