While there's some down time, I'd like to make another suggestion:

I'd like to see the Playoff posts be limited to one post, one rebuttal.

I think it hurts the voting process when certain matchups are pages long. Good points get lost in it, and I'm sure it just turns certain people off. Filing through 15 pages of back and forth can be really time consuming in itself, but then you're looking at repeating it 8 times.

If you make it an easier read, I think it improves participation greatly.

I'd prefer it if there was just one post. An opening post.

There is not much to say after the press conferences anyway. Usually only a small piece of information. Then, after your sole post, leave the rest of the thread for others to discuss your team / matchups.

I don't really like the back and forth or the Q&A part of the playoff threads. I think the most interesting comments are from others talking about you team rather an individual talking about their own team.

-------------------------------------------

And I agree, I think those comments from others get lost or overshadowed -- like you said -- in those long page threads where usually ... the two team owners are thoroughly dominating the conversation / thread.

-------------------------------------------------

I also think the Q&A portion can really get the playoff debate side-tracked. You see people get stuck on one point -- especially when it's a really small factor, a minor point -- and that those back and forth (Q&A) lasts several posts sometimes several pages and really derails the larger conversation about the playoff matchup.

I'd keep the Q&A to the press conference pages and leave them out of the playoff threads.

-------------------------------------------------

When discussing one's own team in the playoff threads, I think a lot of the posts end up being overly optimistic -- or sometimes exaggerated claims about players -- I think that it becomes more of a debating session (which I dislike) than discussing the basketball (which I enjoy a lot).

That is why I prefer more of a group discussion than the individual owners of the two teams dominating the debate.

But that is my personal preference, I am not sure whether that would be shared or not.

-----------------------------------------------

Anyway, I think decreasing how much one talks about their own team in playoff threads is a very good idea.

Whether it's a sole post or a initial post / rebuttal post as suggested by StartOrien.

I think that it is a change well worth making.

I believe it'll improve the quality of the posts / discussion a lot more.

Are we at 23 teams or 22 teams?

I keep seeing GMs talking about how they are working together this year.

I'd like to keep the playoff posts at some capacity.

I like that introduces strategy, or points out things that you might've missed if you were just quickly looking at the rosters. Using a stretch 4, going big cuz the opponent is below average rebounder, or even small things like 'I have Jason Collins who Dwight Howard' has struggled with.'

I made the suggestion before because while I really enjoy the back and forth, and the strategical thinking thats involved in these matchups, I think the important points/ideas can get lost in the shuffle.

I think this could use some IP marketing. Maybe can convince some rookie GMs to join just like how I got convinced last year.
