Suns landed Scola, chances we get Mayo increased ?

Phoenix Suns are awarded ex-Rockets forward Luis Scola, per league sources. Houston used amnesty clause on Scola Friday.

They offered at least 3.3 million to claim him, they have both Robin Lopez to extend, and maybe OJ Mayo on their radar, we could probably get Mayo with our MLE now ?

They would have less than 8 million left in cap space to use on Robin and Mayo.

I think sign and trade with Raptors and Mavs and giving up a 1st get's our MLE. Use it on Mayo.

Why bother bringing in Scola when you dump Nash?

Just brought in your PF of the future in Michael Beasley + have another quality young veteran PF in Channing Frye + another young PF just coming off his rookie year in Markieff Morris.

Let the man go and play with a good team. What a waste.

No way would he be happy playing in a crowded back-court with Rondo, Terry and Bradley.  Not a team player by any stretch.

Not surprised the Suns would amnesty Childress.  That was a terrible signing from day 1.  Not really a NBA caliber player since he came back from Europe.

I believe Mayo would be a great fit for the Suns, and Lee would be a great fit for the celtics. Mayo needs a team where he can get his chance to shine and be the man, Lee is a team player and excellent defender who would flourish playing with Rondo in Doc's system.

I'm all for getting Gortat; but am I missing something here?  Who would we trade for him?  He's certainly not going to come cheap.

If they wanted Bass I would do it in a heartbeat! I thought Gortat was underrated and unappreciated playing behind DH, then he showed it with Nash and the Suns... he would be great here with RR and KG (offensively and defensively)! Too bad I believe we have NOTHING the Suns would want.
