playing with Wade, LeBron, and Bosh he's going to be severely disappointed.

I always thought he was this consummate professional or whatever but he's by definition a Diva.

Upset that you're coming off the bench due to injury and can't guard a chair....get over yourself.

i wouldnt exactly call him a diva, its not like he was always crying to the media or anything. Ray should be hated by us because he plays for the heat now, we shouldn't be assassinating his character bc of 1 choice he made lets build and bridge and get over it

This is a place where anyone can make a thread on just about everything... we did not need another Ray bashing thread, there are plenty. It's not even an original thought, this has been said so many times already. I can't wait until the season starts so we can actually have threads focused on our team and players...
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

actions speak louder than words, and if the reasons he left Boston are true, then ya he was a diva..

he basically said in a recent interview he didnt get enough touches and was upset about that.

He was subtle and professional about it but he complained a lot.

He always talked about how we aren't playing well when the ball wasn't touching his hands because he was talking about ball movement.

Once Bradley was starting over him he was basically saying that he didn't think they would have enough time to gel and make it work basically saying that he shouldnt be out of the lineup.

Then he went and joined Miami because from all indications he wasn't happy with his role here. If that's true then he is being a big baby davis right there. Not a 37 year old vet HOF.

You expect that out of up and coming guys like Westbrook, Bynum, Howard. Those are guys you can see complaining about there role or there touches. Not the supposed consummate professional.

And now we know that 'consummate professional' crap came from the press rewarding their most reliable Celtics player source--even though that same source spent a good part of the last year trying to undermine his coach's decision to start Bradley and the team's GM for doing his job.

I got love for Ray Allen, but still disagree with his decision and the way he went about. He will not be the sixth man of Miami's bench that's for sure. And I agree, Ray Allen will get less touches, because his minutes will likely be reduced because of Battier, Haslem and Miller.

Don't know about more touches, but he will get better touches.  LeBron and Wade will be looking for him when they drive into the lane, make no mistake about that.  There's a reason they were trying to steal stole him away from us.

seriously people need to get over ray leaving. He is a class act in the NBA. He is in the twighlight of his career and gave us 5 strong years. We should thank him for helping us win a ring in 08. Im sure once the game starts KG and DO and gonna hound him like no tomorrow but after its over, KG will go an have a chat (maybe not rondo).

And im not sure about touches. But for a guy that got the majority of his shots off set plays involving about 5-6 screens, Miami aint that type of team and Spo aint that type of coach. He will be waiting for the kick out when Wade and Lebron penetrate gonna expect 12-15 points a game from him, bout it. Probs the same for Lewis

The second Ray Allen mentioned touches,  he lost whatever respect I had for him. True Celtics don't care about how many touches they get.  They care about winning and banners

Can we move this thread to "around the league?"

Yep, the shots he gets will be better then the ones he's had the last few seasons.
Peace through Tyranny

He always cared about touches here, even in his first and second year we were hearing murmurs about how he hated being a catch and shoot guy because he had previously handled the ball more and how much of an adjustment he had to go through.

So did Pierce when KG and Rondo and Ray showed up. DEAL WITH IT or go home.

well said, tp.

Why is it so hard for people to understand that the least of our hall of fame big 3 (least attention, most mentioned as trade bait, etc...) would like to see what he's got left...Staying in Boston was going to equal quick and increasing fade from on-court relevance.  The same thing will happen to Paul eventually but more slowly.  It's never pretty.

Ray is a 3 point shooter.  Miami is the perfect place for him to get down to doing just that, and doing it a lot (he will absolutely get better looks in Miami....and probably more shots too unless he slumps pretty bad down there).

I am happy we have cleared some age out of the SG position.  If you feel the same then why bash?  Why not just see how much sense the move makes from all perspectives?  As far as it being the Heat,  no other contender really reached out seriously.

I wish Ray could have been happy with a much diminished role here in Boston and switched over to teacher mode and kept building legacy.  But why be shocked that a born competitor will instead try to prolong his relevance on the court?

My honest opinion is that Ray has made a mistake in not being more accepting of back-up status, reduced role, etc.... I don't feel the need to bash him on top of that....
