blatche is the most talented big out there, and darko would probably come in second. getting these guys for the vet min, based on talent alone, would be a steal.

the problem though lies in the heart. this isn't a free throw or a jump hook that they can work on the whole summer. it's their approach to the game, to adversity and i guess, to their life in general. Darko has always seemed like a bratty kid who only flourishes when things are going well for him. But when faced with adversity, he will sulk and likely be the first to quit.

That said, i don't think i'd want him on this team. He wouldn't be able to handle KG's tutelage, and a quitter's attitude can really bring a group down. we're better off using the roster space on keyon dooling. he won't be able to give us any minutes in the center or power forward position, but he sure can "flex" and wave a mean towel.

Darko is a better fit.  He actually play like a big man.  He will listen to coaches.  He can be backup C until Melo takes the job from him.

What coaches does darling listen to? How do you know this??

agreed. While Darko's skill set is indeed a great fit (what team couldn't use a serviceable big man who can run the floor and rebound and block shots?), he's really not a champion.

to use a Celtics' example... signing Darko (or Blatche) would probably be a lot like getting Mark Blount. another no-heart player.
Darko has heart, he just lacks skills.

"Darko has cleared waivers" is soon to be followed by "Darko has cleared customs" on his way to play Euroball.

darko is turnover prone, and somewhat foul prone, rather ben wallace who is neither although he is a total non entity on offense.

Ben will rebound, defend and not foul out of games, c's don't need another project center.

Darko was rumored to the Bulls but since they picked up Nazr Mohammed I have heard he's looking at the Heat. Let's snatch him up before they can for the BAE! 1.9M to the former #2 overall pick is a steal even if he doesn't pan out. It's worth a flyer IMO.

Also stealing a Center from the heat will help us come playoff time. Let's make sure they stay with Joel Anthony and Dexter 'Hitman' Pittman.

If he goes to the Heat the Heat will have the 1,2,4, and 5 picks from that draft
