The thing I'm wondering is if we will have the cap space after signing Chris Paul, LeBron James, and Dirk Nowitzki.

If you are going to post a short crazy one sentence topic, at least get the grammar correct.

Nobody is asking to Chris Paul, LeBron James, and Dirk Nowitzki. I am talking about DH12.

p.s. How come that Nets, Rockets or LAL are having a cap space, and Cs not?!

I'm guessing this is completely hypothetical scenario right? Like we're pretending the C's have cap space for a max deal, Dwight wanted to sign here, and we maintain the current C's roster?

Either way I voted 'no,' they wouldn't be clear favorites.  The Celtics would be an absolute force but there are a few powerhouses on top of the league right now that will all be vying pretty equally for a Championship.

C's would have to give up way too much (especially for a disgruntled rental).

Or, next year would amnestying Pierce (not too likely) leave enough cap room?  I'm guessing not with all these two and three year deals.

I was making a joke about how impossible it would be to sign Dwight Howard right now. Aside from being under contract for the next season, he's said Boston isn't even on his list (and it sounds like his list is composed of entirely Brooklyn).

That said, the reason why the C's don't have cap space is because they resigned Kevin Garnett. After that, it was a obvious choice to try to extend the window for a year, maybe 2.

If cap space was something only people with large foreheads had to worry about, and magically Dwight ended up here, I think that yes, with this roster, the Celtics would be among the top 3 teams in the NBA.

Because we forfeited our cap space in favor of resigning Kevin Garnett, Brandon Bass, and Jeff Green.

Mimi MLE, although we'll face stiff competition from the Nets. Although they'll likely just offer him the vet min since they're the only team he'll play for next year, no need to screw up their chances of landing a better 8th man to the team.

Tell me. With many of Green and Bass, is the better idea to sign Howard?

The reality is different. Do not sign Garnett more than 8 mill/season. And...do not sign Green, Wilcox, Bass

how can we sign him? He's not a free agent until next year and he is currently doing everything he can to get traded to a city where he wants to sign long term.

He doesn't want to come to Boston. Ainge knows this and that's why he signed Garnett, Terry, Green and Bass.

I don't know what you mean here, the language is wrong.

Are you saying its a different reality where we somehow didn't resign any of our guys and got Howard?

I dunno, seems like a bit of a weird hypothetical.

No sir. As you mentioned before cup space issue, that itself, is a smart way of spending money. KG is a veteran, do not sign for 3 years, and do not sign for more than 8 mill/season. Do not sign Green for 36 millio@ 4 seasons. If you share money in smart way, of course there is a space for DH12 or any other star.
