Fakers targeting JO, Brand and Jamison

the Fakers are targeting O'Neal, Brand and Jamison. They are hoping that one will sign for the vet minimum, and they still have the mini-MLE available too.

They can have JO, but Brand and Jamison could really help them.
Hard to see either one of those guys signing for the mini-MLE. Can they even acquire Brand that way?

As for the other two, I could care less if the Lakers actually get them. JO no need to explain. We all saw how fragile he was. They can have him. Jamison frankly doesn't scare me at all. He can score, and that's basically it. He's too small to cover power forwards, and he's too slow to cover small forwards. Again, the Lakers can take him if they want.

+1 You're right. Mavs got him for a $2.1 mil bid, I think a few hours ago.

I read that Antawn Jamison was strongly leaning towards the Charlotte Bobcats. He wants to go back to North Carolina and finish his career where he grew up in front of family and friends.

Charlotte have made him an offer and he is close to signing. Although he is taking a few more days to mull it offer. Appearently, the only other teams he'll consider are Golden State or a title contender. So the Lakers still have a small chance here but it looks very likely Jamison will wind up with the Bobcats.

Anyways, I think both JO or Jamison will wind up making the Lakers worse. So subtraction by addition in this case.

Other than Brand going to Dal... I almost laughed and said I would pack JO's bags for them! Jamison, well I didn't know he was still in the league... are you sure he didn't retire before

Shaq did?
Jamison was still pretty consistent. He'd be good depth for LAL behind the twin towers.

JO needs to hang it up, but hey if he wants to play for LA then great  ;D

I think that sounds kinda cool for someone that still has a little gas left in the tank.

He either wants to sign with his hometown team, or the team he started his career with.  Can't hate him for also considering contenders, but based on above it sounds like CHA and GSW are the top two choices.  I like it.

Good for the Lakers. JO and/or Jamison would be nice for them, if either has anything left in the tank.

Honestly, I'm more concerned about what is going on with teams in the East, particularly Miami and Chicago. I know Chicago ended up being an afterthought last year bc of Rose's injury, but I suspect they'll be a dangerous team again this year.

The word is that JO had the same kind of surgery in Germany on his knee(s) that Kobe did. In any case, LA was interested in Rasheed Wallace last year at one point too, but he never played for them.
