Lee's value = AB insurance, possible third guard with AB and Rondo in future years (assuming JET decline.)

Let's say DA pull a S&T for JET with Dallas.

If the choice is sign Steis for $2.5m and bring back Posey. With BAE and 50% of MLE to use during the season or bring in Lee, and sign a vet minimum C.... I'd call it a push.

If we can do:

Get LEE (MLE), Steis (BAE) I'll also be pretty happy. Right now we need a part time C behind KG. We have KG, a project in Melo and PFs for bigs. Trouble against a team with size.

And who has troublesome size besides the Lakers?

The nets

Brook Lopez is one of the worst rebounding centers ever for his size, and that intimidating size will take a huge hit if Humphries leaves, which looks more and more probable now that the Nets have used their money on D-Will, JJ, Lopez, and Wallace.

Not as good. brand and Kaman are not what they used to be. Do you not remember Garnett torching Brand constantly in May against the Sixers?

Kaman and Dirk starting... touch matchup, then Brand comes off the bench.

I still would take Gasol and Bynum, and I wouldn't even think twice. Dirk is an amazing player, no doubt. But the talent drop off from Gasol/Bynum to Brand/Kaman is much bigger than the talent dropoff from Dirk to Gasol/Bynum.

I stopped reading after "bring back Posey".

I mean seriously? Its been 4 years, he's a shadow of the player he was during the run for Banner 17. I appreciate his contributions as much as the next C's fans, but guys, that ship has sailed. Move on.

Anyway, sign me up as someone firmly in the "Get Lee" camp. The guy can play. High BBIQ, soild defender, hits the corner 3 at a good clip. Would be a great fit at the 2 guard spot - I know folks love AB and its deserved, but it'll be interesting to see what type of impact he can have once teams start putting him into the gameplan. I like the kid a great deal, but I think he's far from a sure-thing as our starting SG.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

I think he meant Pietrus. Considering Posey hasn't played in over a year.

AB will not start playing until December.  I think this pushes Ainge make the move so we have a starting SG.  Then later you have a great guard rotation with AB / JET / RR / Lee.

Worst rebounding bigs ever? No way.

But I misread the initial comment, I thought you meant on the wings.

Teams with bigs who would trouble us:

Lakers
Wizards
Whatever team gets Howard
Knicks, if STAT ever gets healthy again
Okc
Pacers
Jazz
Spurs

And on the outside, the Pistons Nets and Warriors

They all have one or two guys we really can't defend at a high level, or defenders to limit and dissuade out bigs and wings.

Edit: and Memphis too, knew I missed one.

If we ended up keeping the pick, signing Joseph and Christmas, and rounding out with vet players, thatd be cool.

But Lee would be a lot cooler. It's be nice to have a legitimate starting 2 guard.

well, technically bradleys proven to be a legit starting 2 guard from his play last year.

only thing that would be concerning to me is the size of our shooting guards 6.2

thats where Lee is helpful...hes 6.6 and can guard the bigger 2's out there

We know what CL can do, we also know that he wants to play here. What big do you propose we get for the mid, name one that said they want to be here, then after that name one that will give more to us than what we already have. Who's left anyway? Scola waiting to clear waivers? CL can give us 3&D (younger and healthier than Pie... even though I love, I mean LOVE PIE!!!). Besides, we still may get Pie AND CL/Mayo!

I agree about Bradley but for the sake of argument, can you really call a guy a 'legit starting' anything with less than half a season 1 experience under their belt?

I meant legit as in traditional. Bradley is 6'2, with an unorthodox game, while Lee is 6'6 with anything but unorthodox. Painfully traditional even. If you look up 'average starting role player shooting guard' there is a picture of Courtney lee and Doug Christie there.

Split it between Kenyon Martin and Stiemsma
Yeah, because we have 200 minutes to fill at C and no-one to take them...  ::)
