Kwame Brown signed with the sixers for 3 million/year. Darko is not worth the MLE. There really are no big men worth the MLE unless Scola somehow makes it to free agency after he got amnestied today. I see us fully intent on using the MLE on a SG, Lee or Mayo.

Kwame signed with Philly. Not much but scraps on the market. The MLE would be best used on another guard which may be the case if Ainge can get this done.

Can I just say, if this goes through and we use the MLE on Lee or Mayo, we will have made some SERIOUS additions. Here's a comparison of who we've added (i.e. who didn't play for us for most of the year) vs who Miami added...

But even if the C's cover the entire cost of Dooling's deal, it still counts towards the cap and towards (what could eventually become for the Mavericks) the luxury tax.  I just wonder if the the Mavs view a second round pick as enough compensation for bumping up their total salary 3 million dollars. 

Considering that most 2nd round picks amount to nothing, I don't know if it's enough.

You're right I forgot how much he was still making on his old deal, far more than what his new salary will be.

I have my doubts whether or not the Mavericks will use all of their cap space. It'll depend on whether or not they win Amensty bids probably. That could be the hold up.

What I am learning is what I already knew.  A sign and trade with either Hou or Dal is a long shot, especially of the only real compensation is a 2nd round pick.  Do we give up a first?  That's only a bit better but I'd do it, expecially considering the number of young players we already have on the team.

Why not give up more than one second round pick?  The Celtics have amassed a decent number of those.
