Are you guys watching Dionte Christmas' demolition of Orlando right now? The sequence that ended in that 4-point play was sick.
I know it's Summer League and he's older/more mature than most of this guys, but Christmas is so strong and versatile. He really knows how to play the game, including on D.

As i said on another thread ..he has shown to be a leader on this team and at times looks like a man among boys...I think it goes head to head between Moore and Christmas for a roster spot...I liked Moore but Christmas is clearly outplaying him.

YEAH only issue is he gets it rolling and then gets immature. He needs to realize this is not NBA Jam when you on fire you cant hit EVERYTHING in real life.

Don't sweat it. Doc would have pulled him right after he made that 4 point play anyway ;)
Never stop believing baby~

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
He is good, but I like Joseph more.
I think Joseph, Moore and JJJ will make it ahead of Xmas. He's taking too many rushed or questionable shots and often looking like a chucker. A few times he's taken bad shots directly off a Boston offensive rebound with 20 seconds on the shot clock. I understand he's trying to impress. His defense is very nice though.

Is Christmas on the Celts' Las Vegas roster. I have liked him since college and hope he gets an invite to camp.

The importance of defense can get forgotten in watching SL.

No, he's the only guy who will play in Orlando only. But then again, he's done enough to earn a camp invite already, so better snag him before the cat is (completely) out of the bag.

Christmas in July is a lot different than Christmas in December.

I think his defense is what's making people take notice obviously but assuming JJJ and Moore get a shot this year, it's down to Joseph and Christmas and Joseph is getting the call. I like Christmas but we're going to need JJJ for big man depth, Moore is proving he might be a serious keeper and Joseph has arguably been the best player for Boston the entire summer league- he can defend well and is a better scorer than Christmas. That leaves Christmas out in the cold unfortunately. Hopefully another team could pick him up and give him a shot because his defense could really help weaker defensive teams- even if you just put him training sessions.

We have room for both, unless we're planning to add 2 centers -- which I doubt.

JJJ has shown that he is at best a role player on a summer league team...why keep him?   And he cannot guard bigs at all.

Not sure what our personal rosters envision but I'm thinking Lee+ Pietrus+ another big before Dionte Christmas. If there's room then throw him in- he deserves it.
If it comes down to Pietrus vs Christmas Pietrus probably takes the veterans nod if Doc and Danny are choosing right?
Christmas then gets signed up somwhere like the Bulls ala Mike James.

Because it's his first summer league, ever? Overreact much?

All you need to do is remember about Chauncey Billups.
