Odds we spend too much time looking around for another big guy and miss out on Wilcox? The guy played great for us for the limited time we had him.

I'm just thinking Occam's Razor: the best answer is the easiest answer. Bring back a healthy Wilcox, and between KG, him, and a little bit of Melo (haha) we'll be fine.

If he's willing to accept the minimum right now, I'm sure Ainge would oblige.

Yeah, I'm sure Ainge told his agent that the vet min is on the table.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I doubt he gets more than the minimum with his heart thing. I know Green was able to secure a pretty lucrative contract, but Wilcox didn't make much more than the minimum last year anyway. If we wants to come back, I am all for having him. He seemed to be a pretty nice fit.

If he's healthy I'd give him the BAE...and he'd be worth it.

Rather use it on a guy like Scola or Brand if they clear waivers.

Edit: I'm highly skeptical either guy clears waivers.

Unlikely we'd have a shot at either. We'd have a shot at Wilcox.

If Stiemsma has a 3 mil offer on the table he is gone. Wilcox would be next in line. However with Melo taking a slot (not happy about his pick) Not sure Wilcox should be our starter. Would like to see Danny being more aggressive in the bigman hunt.

I'm under the illusion that Wilcox can return to the form he was displaying for us when he hit his stride last year. If that's true, I'd get him in a heartbeat with whatever we can offer for him and give him the starting role.

I just don't know if that's going to be true, but I'm willing to gamble on it. The big man availability is a bit foggy for me at the moment as it is. That said, I'd take Wilcox over Stiemsma any day.

I prefer Wilcox over Stiemsma.

And no way Brand or Scola clear waivers. Haywood maybe, and I'd be interested in him--but still prefer Wilcox.

I'd give him the BAE, but it's not clear it will be available after acquiring another 2.  I wouldn't be surprised if Danny promised him the BAE should it be available.  Haven't heard him mentioned to any other teams, or publicly campaigning to return like Pietrus.

If the Celtics can not get anyone, I would sign for Wilcox, if he is recovered. I would like Haywoods, I think Haywoods add much in rebounding and defense, and Scola would be a great help, he can score 15 or 20 points in an easy way.

 Celtics need a center.
