In the vein of cowens and bird, maybe not a celtic for life but the kind of player I want my kids to watch and learn passion from (not the cussing of course)

I've seen this interview several times over the years, and I still had to watch it again just now.

You always hear the saying "there will never be another _______", but I truly believe it applies to Kevin Garnett. I always knew he was a great player in Minnesota, but watching him game after game these past 5 seasons has been astonishing. For as long as the guy suits up, regardless of the odometer and gas gauge, this guy is worth watching.

They should simply play this interview during his enshrinement in Springfield. The guy is what basketball professional sports should really be about.

  • Everyone's excited for the new era.
KG truly embodies what it means to be a basketball player.  Talent, obviously, but more importantly, passion.  Everyone knows that KG going to give it his all when he's on the court.

A lot of people say that his emotional leads to dirtiness, but I don't look at it that way.  KG has played in the old and new NBA.  He played when defenses were allowed to be more physical.  Like he said, "I'm built this way."  KG isn't just going to change the way he plays because Stern wants the Lakers and Heat to win the game to be safer.  That's the way I perceive his toughness and physical play.

If i had to choose what word to describe KG(other than 'a Celtic'), I would say 'soldier' is appropriate.  He worked so hard in 'Sota, a lot of times not getting the credit he deserved, but his patience and loyalty led to the ultimate goal, a championship.

It has truly been an HONOR to witness your play, Kevin Garnett.
