What happened with Stiemsma?  Is he signing with the Wolves or Celtics?  I haven't heard.  Thanks.

No movement.  He's still got the QO from the C's, but Minny is caught up in the drama of seeing if they can land Batum, and if they do, whether they'll be sending salary back in a S&T for him.

The Wolves have expressed an interest in offering Stiemer $3M, which would put him out of the C's range if it's for more than one year, but nothing's been officially extended to him.

I don't think either team has made him an offer yet.

Actually in the proposed trade I've seen for Batum Minnesota wouldn't be sending out salary.

Instead Portland wou get Korver and a couple of 1st round picks, Minny gets  Batum, and Chicago would get a TE and a 2nd round picks.

Now they could still end up with room to offer to Stiemsma even under this scenario if they made other moves but its all in flux. If Batum signs the offer sheet and Portland matches then Greg will likely get an offer the C's can't math.

What about the $3M figured being mentioned?  Was that just speculation?

I'm pretty sure that was the amount Greg's agent wants for him to leave Boston.  We can offer roughly 2 million and he was putting out that if the money was at all close Greg would stay in Boston.  The 3 million per year we couldn't match and Greg would definitely leave for that.  A very nice bump from the minimum deal he had last year....

Speculation -- Stiemsma's agent said that offer wasn't made. The quote is in another thread somewhere. I forget which one.

We can hope, though that would be Portland getting its way, whereas Minny would like to ship out salary.

not sure why hes not getting more attention. rookie 7ftr averages lot of blocks/ 48 minutes hits fts has nice mid range J, good team player plays hard no attitude/ character issues...what is the problem here?

Big men have been getting overpaid for years...  which pretty much means that they aren't overpaid at all.  Market value is market value.

I would rather spend that money on Wilcox in all honesty.
