Maybe Darko just needs a fire lit and If anyone can light that flame it's KG.

Any chance the Celtics can work out a sign and trade of Wilcox and Stiemsma for Darko?

Honestly, I've never been a big fan of him but I do think he would be a good starting center for the Celtics.

Then sign another big man to a cheap contract like Kwame or R Lopez and trade a draft pick for Lee.

They do that, we'll be good to go!

No and even if we could then Minesota wouldn't have the cap space they need to attempt to acquire Batum, which is the only reason they're getting rid of Darko.

pass. he's more talented than a guy like Hollins, but Darko is a brat and really has no spot in the rotation for any contending team. and i doubt Darko would ever listen, even to someone like KG.

I actually don't think he is THAT bad... He is a bust considering his projections, but very serviceable for a bench big guy.

No, guys, no, just no.
He always sucked and always will.. Wilcox or Steamer for him? Jesus Christ..
When you lose, the easy part is to see who gives up. Giving up is very simple. You basically take your stuff and walk away. To continue to work and to continue to compete is one of the most difficult things, especially when you really don't have anything - KG

Darko would be a great addition, though its unlikely he falls through amnesty to the Cs.

He is big, mobile, can rebound, and block shots. He has obviously been a bust compared to where he was picked but is a serviceable NBA big and he would give us the size we lack until Melo gets some seasoning.

I say sign him... I like his talent, but question his drive. On a vet minimum contract, I think he could be valuable as a backup. At least until Melo can get up to speed.

Besides that it would be really cool to potentially have Rondo, Mayo, Darko, and Melo on the same team.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
Like him, we should go after him.

Legit 7 footer. Tough as nails defender, good shot blocker. Part of the dislike is the expectations he had for being the no.2 to LeBron (he won a ring 9 years before James BTW). But if we look at what he can do, for minimal offer maybe, he can do wonders for us.

I'd like to have him here. Relatively young too.

Why wouldn't another team bid something like $3M or $4M for the remainder of his contract?  I don't see him slipping through waivers without anyone else making a bid.  He's not a bad player if your expectations are kept in check.

I am from Serbia and I can tell you that Darko is a very weird and unpredictable. It may happen to be a great teammate, but also problematic and unmotivated. With him you never know. Rick Adelman is not able to cope with it, I do not think that Doc and KG have patience. He is very talented, but I think that this is not enough. To be Celtic must be aware of what team you play. Darko is my namesake, but I have to say NO!

This video is outrageous.  I guess it would be hard to verify how accurate the subtitles are but he certainly looks like he's cursing and p---ed off.  I cannot believe fans would want a guy like Darko on the Cs.  And I'm not just basing this on a short video where he curses...we all know KG and PP are tremendous trash talkers, but Darko has bounced around from team to team because he has a bad attitude and is lazy. This is common knowledge.  You think Dumars would touch him with a 10 foot pole?  Of course not.

I would rather have Chris Wilcox than him. He's an underachiever, can't see him wearing green.

If he was picked at #25 instead of #2, would you say that?

Forget about what people THOUGHT Darko was going to be, what matters is the player he IS.  Which is, a reasonably competent backup 5.  Much better player than Stiemer.

My native language is Serbian, and this is a very accurate subtitle ;D

Like Kwame Brown, in that respect.

EDIT: And NOT like Greg Oden.

Who ever would've thought a few years ago that teams would much prefer to sign Kwame Brown and Darko Milicic over Greg Oden?
Celtics fan for life.
