There's no way.  The Dream Team had too much size.

I'm not saying they neccessarily could, but those that just automatically say "NO WAYY!!!" are being nostalgic.

It would at least be a close game.  I think our players right now are pretty incredible, especially physically.  It's another level.

I do agree with Roy that 92's size would be an issue.  But so would 2012's athleticism.

Yes. Everybody on the 92 dream team is so old now. But it'd still be a competition though.

I think the 92 team would win, especially if you they could still hand check and play physical.

I do think the current team would have a chance by going small with LBJ as a PF. That'd be the only way to handle that mismatch.

I'd be surprised if Team USA isn't playing LeBron at PF quite a bit considering their lack of bigs.

Dream team

Size kills.

Jordon, Pippin, Barkley, Mullen, Drexler were all in their prime.

Last time they used Melo as their primary PF.

Hahaha, can the 2012 team even beat the 2008 team?!?!?!

Dwight + Wade > Durant

Not to mention the guy doing the talking would get shut out if he played himself from 4 years ago.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Just Kobe trying to cast himself as Jordan's equal again, except LBJ would be this team's Jordan.....

My first thought was actually to give it a second of thought; obviously Larry and Magic were shells of themselves at that point. But then, ya, I read this point:

There's no way.  The Dream Team had too much size.

I think Jordan, Pippen, Malone, Barkley, Robinson, Ewing, Magic, etc., were just as good athletically as the current era's stars.

In a lot of ways, I think today's athleticism is overrated.  A 6'10" guy with no post moves is the modern era's best center.  He would get absolutely crushed by David Robinson.

Thats a really tough call IMO.  But the 1992 team is just too big.  The 2012 team is arguably faster and more athletic.  BUT, the Dream Team woulda pounded them down low with all their bigs.. Plus they had Jordan, Magic, Bird, Barkley, Malone, Pippen.. thats just absurd

Yeah David Robinson was every bit as athletic as Howard.
