We know that KG can play the 5 well, yet we also know he prefers to play the 4. Having said that I also don't see KG be physically able to play the 5 all season and stay healthy/fresh. Melo isn't close to being ready, Steamer is a back up at best (10-12 minutes a game). It is imperative to sign a serviceable veteran C if this team wants a shot. I like the idea of either Kwame Brown or Robin Lopez. Both can defend and rebound somewhat. In our system they would shine defensively and get get quick dump layups from Rondo and off the KG double team.

If robin lopez would sign for the BAE that wouldn't be bad. Otherwise I don't see how Danny is going to get a big center (but I'm sure he knows how he's going to)

Stiffs get paid in the NBA. Lopez will get a nice contract. Maybe everyone is finally done giving Kwame serious money, but I don't even know if I'd use the BAE on him. If he can be had for the minimum, maybe.

People always say KG can tap into whatever untapped potential he has, but he's no youngster anymore, he was drafted like 11 years ago.

I don't think we can sign Lopez, but Kwame might be good enough.  He'll clog the middle and grab some rebounds.  There will be no expectatons for him to score.  He could fill Perks role to some degree.  As the team stands there isn't any muscle in the middle.

I like Kwame in the sense of he's gonna be there to defend, set hard picks, rebounds and be a big body. But PLEASE not for more than the BAE. If we sign him for 7 million like the Dubs did I'm going to hit myself.

Boy, Rondo will be furious with T-Rex hands down low. I can see it now.

I'd rather just bring Wilcox back and start KG at the 5. Not very many teams are going to make you pay inside, so any contract other than a vet's minimum spent on a traditional Center is money wasted.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Doubt starting 5 will be any different to last year. KG will play 5, bass will play 4.
Perhaps Green at the 3 with Pierce at 2 (at least until Bradley is back), but I doubt it. Terry probably starts in place of Ray/Avery.

Yeah I think there is some real truth here. I cannot help but believe that KG/Bass and KG/Sullinger will likely be our most efficient frontcourts, even if we had Lopez or Brown. We'd find use for them, but if the cost is a better 2 coming in, I'd rather go with what we've got and take on a vet min big body.

Hopefully we can sign Haywood.

We are probably going to have the same starting 5 as we did last year.  KG and Bass down low.

Just getting a stiff center to throw in our starting unit so we don't have to tell KG he is playing the 5 is a stupid idea.  We tried that once.  His name was Jermaine O'neal.

Note that when we got rid of him, we became of the best teams in the league.

If robin Lopez plays any sort of minutes for your team you have zero chance of being a contender. Truly a terrible basketball player.

Would rather start Fab Melo than either of them. But I'm hoping for Wilcox/KG.

I think I read Lopez resigned.   I am not sure if it was the right one. I always get them mixed up but he may not be an option.

Preferably, Doc and Danny have a sitdown with KG and get him to see the light about moving to center and he does it without complaint.

If that happens, I'd prefer someone besides Bass starts so that he can go back to the bench where he was most effective.  A bench that includes JET, Green and Bass is one of the best in the league regardless of who they use as a backup C and PG.

I'd like to see them bring back Wilcox, Steimsma or Krispy for the center spot.  They each have their strengths and I waffle between who I think is the best option from day to day but at the moment I think it'd be Wilcox because he's energetic and can play either PF or C.
