The more I watch this guy play, the more I fall in love with his game. Man, this guy has sound fundamentals. I really hope he can break into the Celtics rotation, I feel that he can start contributing right away. I know a couple summer league games and a college career are a small sample size, but Joseph just seems like a player who knows how to play the game of basketball.

He knows what to do with the ball, he reacts quick and always has  the ball moving toward the rim and following his shots. Hope he continues his nice play.  He is an offensive minded player and has the tools to make it happen.

Danny consistently picks roll players who are ready to contribute and know how to play the game of basketball even in the 2nd round. I am just waiting for him to swing a trade into the top 10 and draft a star player. Rondo at #21 was great but lucky. Would love to see Danny find the next Boston allstar. Top 5 talent evaluating GM's.

I really agree.  I've watched all 3 games so far and this kid stands out to me a lot.  I hope I don't get killed for this but he reminds me of the Captain.  He has a ways to go to refine his game but he seems very strong when taking contact, he can finish and has that mid range game.  His ball handling is better then I thought but he needs some work there and his 3pt shot needs work as well.  He has a smooth release and has the ability to become a knock down shooter with practice.  I was very surprised at this kids talent level.  Some of his moves really reminded me of how Pierce operates.  He's patient, knows where to pick and choose his spots and just makes things happen that you go, how did he get that shot off.  Having Pierce as a mentor could be huge for this kid.  If he works on his shot and his ball handling he will be in this league a long time and I hope after his 2 yr contract runs out he gives the C's the chance to lock him up.  I think this will be the best 2nd round pick the C's have picked yet.  I know it's only 3 summer league games but he just has that it factor that I did not think he had.

Funny, I said the same thing during a game thread.

He already did.  He was also drafted at 21 and his name is Jared Sullinger.

Yeah, at worst this kids going to be a solid bench player. As long as he works hard he will always have a job.

I agree.  He is so proven.  It's definitely not too early to call him a steal either since he is schooling future Hall-of-Famers like Adam Morrison, Al Thorton, and Miles Plumlee.

as much as I want to get excited about how some of these guys are playing, I keep reminding myself that Joe Forte and Kedrick Brown use to tear the summer league up, while some people felt Al Jefferson was very underwhelming in the summer league.

It's nice to watch these guy play, but there really isnt much to take away from these games.

Relax.  No one said Morrison was a Hall of Famer.

...although I do think Thorton and Plumlee will be.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Funny thing my cousin in Montreal used to tell me about this guy when he was in highschool. He used to talk about how good he was and how he was probably going to the NBA. I  dismissed it thinking no way some chump from Montreal was going to the league, now 6 or so years later he's a Boston Celtic. I didn't realize it was him until I saw he was from Montreal.

I see some of the captain in both Kris Joseph and Jared Sullinger. Old man game it is!

I love how smooth his game is reminiscent of The Captain for sure

What's even more hilarious is he's got Pierces same free throw routine as well.

It's amazing how he does it picking as late as he does.  When he has gotten to the top 15, he's grabbed guys like Al Jefferson and traded for Ray Allen.

Pretty darn good GM if you ask me.  I want him signed to a 10 year deal.
