I did some research on him.  he played at New Mexico State and spent the past season in Turkey, which he claims is the most physical league int he world.  He also claimed that he led the league in scoring, at 20 ppg.

Gibson claims to be a lot more physical player than he was in college, and a master at the pick/roll game.  he had a 3.7/2.5 assist to TO ratio in Turkey, which he didn't mention in his interview.

He was so off the radar that Draft Express didn't even profile him with his draft class.

I watched the second half of the game and all of the fourth quarter and this dude was just going ballistic.  He looked like Jimmer Fredette at BYU but faster and against better competition. His ball handling skills were pretty good and he can shoot the lights out but he didn't show any passing ability unfortunately.  Still, he now looks like a summer league guy to watch along with Sullinger, Joseph, Christmas, Melo (unfortunately) and our precious Purdue boys.

He really impressed me today.  He was quick as the dickens and his stroke looked smooth as silk.  He stepped it up in crunch time too, 15 of his 17 points in the fourth quarter.  I'd love the Red Claws to take a flier on him and see what happens.

I had a great time watching him today, and there is no way I think he's 6'1.

Prior to him going off in the 4th I was feeling really bad for him because he looked TERRIBLE out there ... missing everything (0-5 yesterday), turning it over.  Then, he went off.  I still think he lacks the skills to ever crack the NBA.

He had a heck of a 4th quarter, but watch all of his minutes. He leaves his feet too often when he passes. That wouldn't cut it against better competition. I hope he catches on somewhere, but he got hot for 10 minutes today. That's it.

yup and I don't know if it was just me mistaking him for someone else but he had a nice behind the back dish to ETwaun and a couple nice passes but they were missed shots, also was up into his man giving nice ball pressure

Invite him to camp, worst thing that happens is he doesn't make it. He reminds me of Nate Robinson/Norris Cole. Then again, we only saw 10 decent minutes of him.

Draft: 8 first rounders in next 5 years.

He has a horrible habit of leaving his feet- he's used doing to compensate for his height. Unfortunately he won't get away with it against the height in the NBA as witnessed already...
Major leaks in his game that scouts often won't look past unfortunately.

He has looked a lot better than Moore who simply doesn't have the handle to be a point guard.

For a "chucker" Gibson played some good d on Marshon Brooks and made a huge steal and caused a turnover with his pressure at the end of the game to put it away.  If Rondo gets hurt we are going to need a guy who can handle the point for half a game or so and Moore simply can't.

Moore is 3 inches taller (probably more like 4) than Gibson.  Gibson is the class SG in a PG body.  These guys do not have much success in the NBA outside of the Eddie House role.

My guess is he goes back to Turkey, probably makes more money there than in the D-league.
