Would be a great trade for Philly if Dorell could regain his form from two seasons ago.
Jack of all trades, master of none.

Is Philly up to something?

They amnesty Brand and let Lou Williams go. They bring back Hawes, and now trade for Wright, who will back up Evan Turner and Iggy.

Unless Iguodala is being moved?

Edit: Forgot about Mo Harkless. He's another wing. Something has to be cooking.

Reports now say that instead of a pick, Warriors will get the rights to one of Philly's draft-and-stash overseas players.

Golden State needed to trade someone to free up some minutes on the wing.

SG: Klay Thompson, Brandon Rush
SF: Harrison Barnes, Richard Jefferson, (Dorell Wright)

Good choice with Wright. It didn't look like he had a long term future there. I think he was already looking for greener pastures. Just waiting for that contract to expire. The Warriors needed a more physical small forward to play behind H.Barnes in the long term anyway.

It could just be a cap dump. Golden State were up against the luxury tax if I remember correctly. I remember their owner in an end-of-season interview telling fans not to expect any (substantial) moves in free agency due to how close the Warriors were to the luxury tax.

Maybe trying to free up some cash to make a FA signing. Or perhaps to keep one of their own FAs ... maybe they needed more wiggle room to keep Brandon Rush.

I don't understand what Philly is doing. They seem to be overloaded at the wing now.

SG - Nick Young, Evan Turner
SF - Andre Iguodala, (Evan Turner), (Thaddeus Young), Dorell Wright, Moe Harkless

Maybe Thaddeus Young is becoming their starting PF full time and will no longer spend any time at SF.

Yep. If it's a Euro, it's probably someone obscure with no real shot at the NBA.

Does Philly intend to be a player for Dwight Howard or something?

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Man, I would have loved D. Wright and it looks like Philly got him for [essentially] nothing. I guess I am supposed to be excited about Lee and I am, kinda, but I sure hope we don't overpay or trade too much away...
