Who knows about Wyc.  He calls up Felger and Mazz every now and then to give his 2 cents.

I get the feeling that he's a bit of a basketball nerd like the rest of us here, i wouldn't be suprised if he happened to find his way onto this site one boring afternoon.

We've had some evidence that people in Celtics management read the forums from time to time.

But I like to hope (and pray) that Danny Ainge has more important things to do than look at our trade ideas and witty banter.
Seriously, curious how so?

Of course they do.

I for one am certain that many of my brilliant ideas have had a direct influence on decisions made by the Celtics front office.

Now if you'll excuse me, I will head off to the Hobbit boards. I have some suggestions for Peter Jackson regarding how he portrays Smaug.

Wyc maybe, Danny no. Wyc probably tends to have more Celtics-oriented free time/ego-cushioning to peruse the forums while Danny's job can't be jeopardized with every single bit of narcissism that goes on around here or any Boston sports forum for that matter. If DA read the forum he'd be sending guys outta town left and right every time they had a bad game, and forcing Doc to put them in the starting lineup every time they had a good game.

To me, it's the owners that tend to be more in touch with the hometown fans -- think the media side of Mark Cuban -- while the GMs do the real dirty work -- think the business side of Mark Cuban that just heartlessly gutted the team for a mere chance at Deron Williams.

I read and post the forums when my days are going slow at work.  But when I'm constantly on the go and always traveling, I hardly ever frequent here.  I'm sure Danny's days are booked everyday with phone calls and scouting and talking to his players, and spending time with his own family.

We tend to speak on extreme terms so I doubt he would want to waste time here.  But Wyc, I can see checking out this site once or twice a year...

  • Ashy To Classy, baby.
I really hope he's competent enough to make his own decisions for his JOB and not even have to think about looking for inspiration on interweb blogs. That'd make me throw up.
My pic is now, and will be Fab Melo until he posts his first official NBA dbl-dbl. This may be permanent.

I don't know about the forums, but members of the Celtics front office and ownership team read the front page, at least from time to time.
Can I ask how exactly you know that.

I can't imagine DA having time to surf the web for fans opinions. As for Wyc, at the very most I'd guess he would have someone do it for him to get a feel for the fans opinions.

Wyc responded to one of our front page articles about allegations that the team was pumping in crowd noise during games (prior to the "big three" era).

In terms of others, I've received feedback on articles from members of the front office.  I can't be more specific than that, since they didn't authorize it for public consumption.

Sources: Celtics in talks with free agent Gerald Green.  Also in talks to trade for Al Jefferson and Kendrick Perkins.  Have also reached out to ATL about a trade for Josh Smith for JuJuan Johnson and Keyon Dooling.

No.  While Jeff, the moderators, and a select few readers are knowledgeable, most readers who post here are green-teamers that over-value the C's players and come up with some pretty horrendous trade ideas.  Danny Ainge would have another heart attack if he read a few of these threads.

Hey!  I know for a fact that at least one of my own horrendous trade ideas received at tommy point from DA this year.  He sent me a private message afterwards and made me promise not to tell anyone.

I think there are just as many people here who undervalue our players as there are people who overvalue them.

i am not surprised. i am sure for the celtics front office this is a nice way of keeping tabs on a herd of rabid fans who roam these pages. it also says good things about cb and its mods. they run a blog that attracts so many fans and keeps fun and interesting discussions alive and well.

thanks guys....now maybe danny will give you all a tommy point or two.
