Is Sullinger a talker?

I saw him during the Summer league game barking a bit and getting fired up. If so wait till KG gets a hold of him.

I liked his humility and confidence in his postgame interview.

I watched him several times in college.  He talks a lot while the game is going on, but is pretty stand-up once the whistle blows.  I like him a ton, and as a Michigan fanatic, I never thought I'd say that about an Ohio State kid.

I'm usually just a lurker on this site, but since Sully is aboard I'm definitely going to be posting more. Jared is a going to be a fan favorite very quickly IMO... As an Ohio State Alum I could be considered bias but I think I'm right with this one. Sully will not back down & he'll be barking if it's needed to get himself or the team fired up...

Chatted about NBA basketball as he worked,  I mentioned Sully being a promising rookie for the C's.  

He started to laugh , saying oh yeah, I can tell ya all about him...." I played him in High school growing up several times".
 Sully and my mechanic apparently went to rival High schools.  He mentioned Sully was a first rate trash talker , and part of his game was to intimidate you verbally from the tipoff.  Get you mad and take your mind off team basketball, with distracting comments.   That was about the nicest thing he had to say about Sully... got the impression there was no love lost there...

We NEED that talkativeness - the trash talking.

a HUGE chunk of that left with Kendrick Perkins. I'd watch games when Perk was still here, and he and KG would start chirping, and then Paul would chime in, and then you'd see Rondo talking trash as well.

Back in the day, our opponents would mention all the time how BOS tried to take you out of your game with just the trash talk, alone.

If Sully does this, then we NEED it! Glad he's onboard. We've missed that since Perkins.

And Sully - don't lose no more than 10 pounds, young man. Stay big and tough. We need that. We probably won't see Perk in Green again, but if you want to take his spot with the trash talk, be my guest - please.

I don't think we've missed it.  From what I saw and have heard we talked a lot of trash to LeBron for example.  Rondo seemed to when he played D on LeBron for a last second shot and Pierce did when he hit that dagger over him.  You saw Rondo and Wade talk lots of mess too, especially before and even during FT attempts.  We all know about KG.

However, I do think Sully will carry on the tradition and fit right in if this is true 

I didn't expect it but that usually is a sign of competitive fire so I like it.

I picked up a slight twinge of cockiness from the interview I watched yesterday.  Not rookie Glen Davis level cockiness... more like rookie Marcus Banks (before the league humbled him).  Kinda guy who has been the star everywhere he's been and he knows it.

Hopefully Sullinger continues to play well.  Having confidence isn't a bad thing if you can back it up.

Tell your mechanic to hang in there. 7'4" Mark Eaton was discovered when he was working as a mechanic and a basketball scout saw him under a car,  his impossibly long legs sticking out from under the car's frame.  He ended up getting a free ride at UCLA, although he barely played there.  he was able to find a role in another place where everybody got paid too, the NBA.  (That's the story anyways).

He has a level of Austin Rivers arrogance about him- not always a bad thing, but something most great players have. He almost seems offended when people question his injury status or a particular leak/hole in his game that needs to be plugged.

Will be great if Sully and Garnett can team up and break some hearts.

Yeah, but since Perk left, KG hasn't had a BIG trash-talker to team up with him.

At 6'9" and 270(?) pounds, let him tone that bulk up some, and he could be a highly-skilled Rick Mahorn.

Rick Mahorn, Charles Oakley - those guys were bruisers back in the day.
