I think Rajon Rondo's chances of being voted as the starter at PG for this year's All Star game is very high.  With Derrick Rose out for at least the first half of the season and Deron Williams having been out of the lime light for a couple of years, he is the likely front runner right now.

The potential of being an All Star starter, if nothing else, could help spur Rajon and the team to get off to a really strong start.

Speaking of which, I bet KG will be back in the mix as an All Star starter.  I just don't know which position they'll put him at on the ballot.  My guess is they'll list him as a power forward, regardless of where he actually ends up playing.

DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

With the Nets moving to Brooklyn and loading up their roster which, if they net Dwight Howard, should be a legitimate title contender ... with the whole NY media circus around it ...

I think Deron will be a very tough challenger to Rondo for that starting spot.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
If Howard ends up in Brooklyn it's going to be a two horse race.

As of right now he's default starting point-guard, IMO.

I think they'll list him as a center where he'll have no chance up against Dwight Howard.

I hope he is voted in as Dwight's backup by the coaches though. I'd hate to see someone like Hibbert get the nod again ahead of Garnett.

Yup.  I know it's not about individual honors, but I'd like to see Rajon come out of the gate playing for that spot.  It'll help him continue to turn that corner into being a superstar, which will in turn help the team both in the short term and the long term.

Rondo IS the best PG in the East so he should definitely get it.

Chandler/Howard will make the team, I'd be shocked if KG got left off for Hibbert if he plays at a similar level to the last half the season.

If the Nets are competitive I think Deron Williams will be voted in.

He's gotta be.

Fans vote based on name recognition and stats. Rondo is pretty well known, but his stats are mediocre in regular season. He barely scores in double figures.

Rondo gets craped on just about every year. It's like he gets over looked EVERY SINGLE YEAR its sad when people ask "who is the best point guard?" and no one (expect boston fans) say rondo! All people care about is what PG can score lol. What about assist and steals? wait...what about rebounds? People are forgetting what makes a HOF PG

My point is that I think that's bound to change this year.  Based on last year's playoff performance, his national pub. is going to be at an all time high.

Jeremy Lin is a dark horse... if Knicks match and he beats out Kidd for starting job.

I hadn't even thought of him.  Linsanity could be back in full effect.

Dark horse?  I'd call him the hands down favorite if he's playing in the Eastern Conference, whether or not he's starting for his team.

Yao Ming played 5 games in 2011, and was voted an All-Star starter.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class
