There has obviously been a lot of Ray Allen talk around here recently and rightfully so, considering he was a big piece of our 2008 run, and then jumped the fence and joined the enemy. This talk has kind of overshadowed what I think is a BRILLIANT signing for us in Jason Terry.

This guy can flat out score the basketball. He is good from mid range, he can knock down threes, and he can also drive the basketball to the hoop aswell. Another facet of his game that Ray just did not have whatsoever is that he can dribble the ball and create shots for others.

The Terry signing did not make me feel any real sense of loss for Ray leaving at this point. This isn't a knock on Ray, I just feel that Terry is a more suitable all-round bench scorer for the Celtics right now.

Thoughts??

I'm most happy about his versatility and comfort in the role of being a scorer off the bench.  He will play well at SG off of Rondo, but most importantly, he will also be able to backup Rondo which finally will give us someone to create offense and keep us from those stretches of stagnant offense when Rondo is on the bench.
