Don't understand this move myself. I bet this was Thibs infatuated with his defense and wanted him for the team, but I don't see why they needed to waste their MLE on him considering the options they currently have.
He can play the 1 or 2, and it's the taxpayer mid-level at $3 mil a year, for 2 years. Hinrich will not be overpaid.
