What if the S&T involves JJJ, Moore, and Sean Williams, with two 2nds?

Lee's new contract would begin at, what, up to $3.3 million? As much as $4 million? Is it likely that someone else with the MLE would trump that?

If there are eight teams interested in him, it's probable that somebody will offer the MLE.

Wouldn't Courtney Lee have to agree with the S&T before getting moved?

Yes.  He has to agree on the contract, and Houston has to agree on the compensation.

Lee's out hunting for a S and T.  he's been quoted as saying that GM Morey loves acquiring draft picks.  Houston has decided to move on from Lee and will get something for him. As the market for SGs who shoot well shrinks, Lee's value will go up.

There's an arms race with the good teams in the NBA right now.  As all the good teams are now playing solid defense, shot making is at a premium. Lee's shooting percentages are a hair less than Ray Allen's 44/39% to Allen's 45/40%.  at 6'5" 200 he has good size too. he's got Finals experience too.  What's not to like about Courtney Lee?

The point I was trying to make, though, was that Lee has the choice and at the very least no other team can come down and swoop him away from us. His relationship with Doc most certainly helps in this case.

Got ya.  Lee's made only $6m over his four year career and his current team just refused to offer him a one year QO at $3.3m.  He's going to take the first big long term deal thrown his way.  I see him gettin from 4/$15m to $4/20m.
