Kristic wants to rejoin the C's? (Rumor)

There hasn’t yet been much U.S. news about the possibility of Krstic returning to the NBA, but a translated report from Sportska Centrala titled “Krstic on the Verge of Returning to Boston” expresses that Krstic plans to return to the NBA and has interest in joining Milwaukee, Brooklyn, or Boston. However, the Celtics hold the exclusive Bird Rights for Krstic and therefore can sign him to a larger contract than most other teams by going over the salary cap to pay his salary.

It isn’t clear how interested Krstic is in returning to Boston, or if the team has even reached out to him and considered making an offer. Yet the move would make sense for both Krstic and the Celtics, especially now that Boston has room below the luxury tax cap due to the loss of Ray Allen.

U.S. media report that the return of Nenad Krstic in Boston near realization, after the new coach of CSKA Etore Messina announced that the Serbian center to leave Moscow.

Krstic is interested Milwaukee and Brooklyn, but Boston still lays claim to our center.

I read a rumor somewhere -- I'm not sure if it was sourced -- that Lee wanted more than the MLE.  Also, isn't Krstic's contract in Russia for more than $5 million?  To entice him to come over here, we may have to match or exceed that.

Who really knows when it comes to translations, but I'd love to have him back at a reasonable price for 1 year.

Its gotta be a terrible free agent market when we are getting excited about Kristic. For cheap and a third stringer maybe. But if we are contending I cant see him starting or being our back up.

He's very underrated here. He isn't a star by any means, but he is a solid rotation guy. He would start on many teams and there aren't many, if any, teams he would be a 3rd stringer on. He's still only 28 and can be easily be a 10/6 guy, in about 24 mpg, for us. Again, a solid rotation guy.

I read he was looking for 6 Mil but I don't recall the source. I think Wilcox fits better than Krstic so I would use the money on him.

I think we're finalizing the rest of our team, more important pieces, such as Green, Bass, Terry, etc. before we work on Krstic. It makes sense because until those players were signed we really wouldn't know how much we could offer him. I don't think it's any coincidence that after the Green and Bass signing his name has surfaced.

That makes sense. It's just that even low priority guys like Pietrus have rumors/news connecting them to the Celtics but you haven't heard a single thing about Krstic.  Just kind of makes me think they aren't really pursuing him, or else maybe it's because he's overseas so the news/rumors aren't more prevalent.
