Hollins is already a bonafide pick and roll player which is crucial against the Thunder and Heat and is a solid player on defense.

I don't think I've seen any evidence that Hollins is all that good defensively OUTSIDE of pick and roll situations.  Certainly not good enough to compensate for his putrid rebounding.  Hollins makes Brandon Bass look like Charles Barkley on the boards.

Mike

Yes, except you can teach rebounding.  You can't teach size.  Half of rebounding is just hustle/laziness and Hollins is very obviously a hustle player.  He just needs to learn the technique and small things- things he can get from KG over the next couple years.

Hollins is a center that can play 10 decent minutes a game for us at the vet min. with tons of upside.  Who wouldn't want that?  Especially considering our options are as a group, him, a rookie with low upside, and anyone we pick up from the d-league.  And stiemsma if we get lucky.

I want Steisma and Hollins back
KG aside, Celtics can't depend on a couple of rookies to man the middle next season

No interest in him if Stiemsma stays (with Fab Melo also here).

May consider him if Stiemsma leaves but that would be quite worrying because I am dubious about Fab Melo stepping into the rotation right away + I think Hollins is more ideally suited (talent wise) to being a third string center than a primary backup.

Ryan Hollins is terrible at basketball. He runs around the court like a chicken with it's head cut off. I think Melo, in his rookie season, will be twice the player Hollins was for us.
Rofl I can just picture him the way he hops and almost doesn't even look at defenders just their feet bouncing around them like a pogo stick

Whatever happened to Chris Wilcox?

Did he end up going somewhere?

Hollins sucks, just put him out of your mind.

he's like that girl you have an inexplicable attraction to that all your friends tell you to run away from and when it's all over, you look back and can't for the life of you figure out what the attraction was in the first place

for security and league min, i would bring him back.

Melo and Sullinger will have issues at centre. Hollins is poor at rebounding, but thats mainly because he was usually asked to defend the pick and roll. Against the 76rs he was pretty effective and KG/rondo instead snatched most of the rebounds.

Hollins is a versatile pf/c and for league min /insurance, it is worth the pickup. He knows our system and guys also

Just saying, I think WIlliams has a much better game than Hollins , if Williams can get his head screwed

I think what is going to happen , is Doc and Danny are going to see where Willliams is at the end of the summer league , and then make a choice of HOLLINS or Williams.  I'm betting on Williams though ...he can jump and is a decent shot for a big man.

I stillwant to see Wilcox and Pietrus on the team.

No one has said anything about him being great on offense, but I'm going to laugh when Melo doesn't play a single meaningful minute for us this season.  Melo is a rookie who doesn't know the rotations, is notoriously lazy, has no offensive game, and may or may not be able to play post defense on NBA bigs and plays mediocre pick and roll defense.  We all hope that he tops out at Perkins, but we all have seen first hand how much rookies do since Doc values continuity and knowing rotaitons which rookies struggle with.  Hollins is already a bonafide pick and roll player which is crucial against the Thunder and Heat and is a solid player on defense.

I have no idea why people on this board keep saying that... I have not heard/read even ONE person who actually works with him or knows him say that he is lazy! All of them said he is a hard worker! You don't lose 30lbs over the summer and come in and double your production by being lazy! Just because he struggled with education all of you ASSUME he is lazy, when everyone that truly knows him says he isn't. I wonder how you guys get so much information on him when everyone in the know says different... do you work with him? He even said that he wasn't good in school because of all the other things he had to deal with (language, basketball, being "alone", and age/immaturity)... he said he put max effort into basketball! Some people just aren't good in school but it doesn't always have to do with laziness... AGAIN, no one called him lazy but people on CB. If I'm wrong about him being said to be "notoriously lazy" show me some links/proof and I will readily admit to being wrong!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

honestly, Fab Melo is probably better than him right now...I kind of laugh and

and, I would rather play sean williams and/or Steimsma

people saying Melo wont play need to take a look at our depth chart...because we really dont have that many bigs...I think both Sullinger and Melo will get their chances to contribute this season

I'm guessing he's in the mix for one of the remaining roster spots.  If Stiemsma goes to Minnesota, I wouldn't be surprised or disappointed to see Ryan Hollins back.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

Yeah please no! Hollins is a total scrub, i can admit he plays with intensity but all the intensity in the world cant make up for his poor rebounding and those stone hands. Even with rondo feeding him he struggles catching it!
