Yeah, Steimsma is a Wisconsin boy who probably is going to get more money and (possibly) more PT playing for Minnesota. I think it makes sense that he is leaving.
It really doesn't matter whether he wants to play in Minesotta. He's restricted, so we have control.

Yes and no.  He is restricted, but we can only actually match an offer up to about $2 million, because we don't have Bird rights on him, and have already used the MLE.

Would have to be a sign and trade..maybe Krstic for mayo ? Mayo is not gonna sign for the bae

Once again WHY would Memphis do this?  They just signed their backup C/PF in Speights?  The answer the wouldn't.  If they don't sign Mayo it's for Luxury tax reasons...

Why would we want a guy who has time and time again not wanted anything to do with our organization? We really dont need another guard besides Mickael Pietrus. And yes, his having tested posotive for PED's figures in on my opinion of him. I just dont understand why everyone wants this guy or why anyone even thinks we need 3 potential starting shooting guards on 1 team. Makes no sense.

Terry isn't a starter and AB hasn't played a full season yet to know if he can do it night in and night out. You know what you get with Mayo, he'd be a great insurance plan if AB either doesn't heal right, get hurt again(been hurt both seasons) or doesn't pan out.

If DA can sign him I'm fine with it. If not oh well. I don't like OJ Mayo at all but if he plays for us I'll root for him.
Signed to a 6 year $0 contract with the Celtics Blog forum!

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
I don't see the point in getting Mayo when we already have Jet. We need a spot up shooter. Someone who can park outside the arc and catch and shoot. Mayo, game similarity wise, is basically a taller Jason Terry.

We need someone who can be a threat outside, open up lanes for Rondo.

Pietrus, Meeks, my boy Brandon Rush, Delfino and Courtney Lee are the guys Danny should be pursuing. I know we are limited cap wise but at least give it a shot. I dot think Mayo would sinus any good, especially with limited PT.

Can't S&T Krstic--he wasn't on their roster at the end of last year.

I have seen this pointed out in at least three different threads.  Gotta keep 'em honest!   8)

I understand this, I'm just pointing out that if we miss out, it's not going to be because Stiemsma would like to play in MN.

Right.  Minny could conceivably offer him a tad over the QO or the BAE, with him choosing a slightly lower Celtics offer if he wanted to stay.

If the C's sign Krstic, it could be tough for him to get as much playing time here this year, however.
