Not sure of Celtics' salary situation, but hearing they've "stepped up their interest in OJ Mayo," via text from source.

Like I said last night Danny Ainge is the most creative GM in the NBA and he will figure out a way to further upgrade the team.

Sam Amico huh? That sounds like him saying, "I'm not sure if this can even happen, but I'll make up the rumor anyways.

OJ Mayo is redundant with Jason Terry here. I'd rather sign a defensive SG.

Danny Ainge and Doc Rivers in his quotes today sounded pretty adament they were going to add another SG and Danny Ainge isn't one to settle for the obvious options. If there is a way to get something like this done, I am sure DA is exploring it.

I don't know, with all our bad luck injury wise I'll take all the bodies I can get.

A defensive SG will probably be sought after down the line to round up the roster. Whatever Ainge has up his sleeve to get Mayo I wouldn't spend looking for a defensive SG.

I do agree with our needs though, but I think Mayo would be a good compliment to our team.

In many regards, Ainge is focusing on wings that are ball handlers, and I like that. It should improve the stagnancy of our offense.

And OJ Mayo is far from redundant. He is more of a slasher while JET is the perimeter shooter. Who knows if it will happen, we will just have to see.

I mean, we know what has to happen. We have to somehow jerry-rig a sign-&-trade with either Terry or Mayo. Which i'm not sure can be done, but maybe. We have the room under the hard cap.

It most likely would have to be a S&T.. the options could be Jajuan Johnson or Steamer. Salary's don't have to match up if you can absorb the contract under the cap. So maybe there is  a loophole based on the order DA does the transactions. I trust DA.

I'd love it. But I do worry about the 5.  How do we get a servicable 5 to allow KG to play the 4?  Or, are DA and Doc deciding that KG will play the 5 despite his wishes not to?

Where do the minutes come from? Rondo, Bradley and Terry all should be in the low-30's range (AB and Jon could play more, but preservation throughout the season is key.)

I'm not sure Mayo will be happy with anything we have to offer. No money and not enough minutes.

Of course this is Sam Amick reporting, right? Probably read Docs comments on Ray and just through OJ out there.

Whomever the other SG will be, he'll be also playing some SF. I think the minutes will affect Green the most, but I see him playing plenty of PF too.

I think all will have about 25+ minutes a game, and when injuries set in and the season is over, the minutes per game is going to jump for everyone.

I don't see that as being a problem.
