Doc Rivers on Ray Allen: "i'm just disappointed. He should have stayed. We recruited him just as hard. We talked. It was a good talk."

gary washburn ‏@GwashNBAGlobe
More Doc on Ray: "I thought he should have stayed with us. He had his reasons for leaving and I guess he'll express those with you guys."

gary washburn ‏@GwashNBAGlobe
More Doc: "No (I didn't agree with his reasons) but that doesn't matter. I just wish we could have found a way and we didn't." #celtics

Good, i don't want any of the "we wish him the best, we respect his decision" crap. He shouldn't have left, keep it simple.

Doc is too smart to say anything revealing. But deep down his green blood is probably boiling.

Also I think it's pretty interesting how long its taken for anyone from Boston, including Doc to make a comment on the decision.

I'm sure their all pretty raw still.

I truly think Ray Allen leaving for the Heat is one of the most interesting story lines going into the season.  I look forward to reading more and more about how the Celtics feel about Ray taking his talents to south beach.  This is juicy stuff man.

Probably boiling about how many hoops Ray wanted them to jump through in order to retain a 37 year old backup sg.

Wow!! It sounds like Doc was being as diplomatic as he possible could be, but he sure doesn't seem too happy with Ray.

The best is going to be if KG opens up and talks about it.

Exactly. Take the name off the stats and this isn't nearly as big a deal.

Doc truly sounds hurt. Just adds another dimension to this rivalry with the Heat.

Or he'll just never acknowledge Ray Allen ever existed. Either way, I want to hear KG's thoughts too. They'll be interesting at the very least.
