Same per year as Judas received last 2 years. Green is 11yrs younger. He is Bigger, Stronger, and Faster than Judas. All it means now Green probably starts now. Pencil him in 14-17ppg 6rpg.So you think this means Paul will play the 2?I don't see Jeff starting just yet. But I do feel much more confident with having a bonafide Paul replacement if/when he gets dinged up a bit.The man can even spell KG a bit.you don't come off the bench if you make $10M. Pierce at 2 is an advantage on offense for the Celtics. As is 3s have problem defending Pierce. He's going to eat 2s alive. On defense Pierce is dam good. And as far as the quicker, smaller 2s put Rondo on them. I can't see Pierce playing the 2 for long stretches next year. When's the last time he played shooting guard.

Yeah, I'm certainly not going to get worked up about the amount of the deal. He'll be needed through the next championship window, and when it's done, he will still be young with a tradeable contract.

It would be nice if he was tradeable right away (especially if we have a shot at somebody like Josh Smith midseason), not a few years down the road.
Ever since we got him, I've never understood the Pierce at SG and Green at SF thing. How can anyone say Green isn't the 2 in that lineup? He's literally twice as fast as Pierce.Almost every time we've seen it it's been Green guarding the SG.

Nets (Joe Johnson) Indiana (Paul George) Chicago (Rip Hamilton) New York (?) Miami (Dwyane Wade) Spurs (Danny Green) OKC (Thabo Sefolosha) Lakers (Kobe Bryant)Pierce can guard all those guys.

We're set to start Brandon Bass. If there's an upgrade for our starting line up available on the trade market, I'd like Green to have a positive trade value right away.

All I said that when the window is done (3 years from now considering the type of contracts being handed out), Green's contract won't hinder us any going forward, it'll be tradeable. And you have no clue how teams will feel about Green when the time arrives. All I can comment on is that 3 years from now, a one year deal on a 29 year old is not hard to move if needed be, it'll become an expiring contract too rather quick. So don't see all the fuss about it.
