The way Ray Allen left the Celtics, was complete disrespect to Doc, Danny and the rest of the organization.

It wouldn't be an issue if he decided to take more money with Memphis or the Clippers. And on top of it, he requests a bogus 3yr/27mil deal from Boston, knowing Ainge wouldn't go for it.

Screw you Ray, I hope you're not the same player after surgery and never win another title.

He probably didn't care about disrespecting Danny or Doc because it was reported that he felt disrespect from them because of the trade attempts and loss of the starting spot.

KG was shopped. Rondo was shopped. Paul was shopped.

I don't see any of them complaining and wanting to sign with another team for nearly half the amount.

Ray is a diva just like those clowns in Miami. He belongs there.

In order for ray to succeed and get what he wants he needs to knock the celtics out in the process...Is that what you want? Didn't bother reading your thread i read the first couple of lines and saw where this was going. No one man is over the team. I root for whoever has on a celtics jersey and whoever doesn't is the enemy. ESPECIALLY if that person has on a HEAT jersey, NUFF SAID.

At this point in his career, and I stress at this point, Walter can be replaced by any number of lower priced, obviously less thin skinned NBA spot up shooters.  Things you will not miss will be the borderline horrible defense, the " where was that pass going" question you ask every game from him, and the obligatory drive to the hoop that ends in a miss or blocked reverse lay up attempt.  I will not thank him for the memories or his long hours of practice and prep for which he was handsomly rewared.   I will not wish him luck, nor will I dwell on what might have been.  He owes me nothing just as I owe him nothing. So take your talent ( singular) to South Beach and enjoy sitting at the kiddie table.  Alpha Michael Foxtrot.

For me, personally, I shuddered more when Paul had the ball in his hands, over the last couple of yrs, than Ray.

Ray running the break was fairly disastrous.

Ray dribbling was fairly comical.
Ray shooting was something special.
Ray leaving is something horrific.
Love never fails. Character never quits. And with patience and persistence, dreams do come true.

Shouldn't judge the Ray Allen experience in Boston on the basis of its lows (the last 24 hours, pettiness toward Rondo, not aging gracefully, first few rounds of the '08 playoffs) or its highs ('08 Finals, when he really could've been co-MVP w Pierce, '09 playoffs (when KG's injury featured him more, start of '10 Finals (before Artest's subtly dirty knee to his thigh in Game 3 messed his shooting rhythm up for a week or so, aka the rest of the Finals).

Gotta look at the man over the course of the 5 years he was here, day in and day out.  He worked hard, made sacrifices, largely swallowed what we're all seeing now to've been a pretty big ego, and set a good example of work ethic and professionalism.  I'll miss him and wish him well, though never against the Celtics.

I'll root for Ray Allen in all games except against Celtics. I thank him for the great memories in the last 5 years, those memory belong to me, I won't just erase them because Ray changed team.

Right now people are just angry, time will heal the hatred(for some).

If your bestfriend killed your mother would you say wait a second....Let me look over the course of these last great 5 years we had together.........NO!! Ray threw that all away the second he took less money to go try to prevent us from winning banner 18 on the rival team!

I don't have a problem with other people feeling that way.  To me, Miami's just sort of a circumstantial rival (does anyone still hate the Cavs anymore around here?).  I actually would've been angrier if he'd gone to the Lakers, 76ers, or the Knicks - Miami's just passing through as a rival because of LBJ.

If we got this worked up every time an old man left the Northeast to move to Florida, the whole country would grind to a halt.

I thank ray for what he gave us the past 5 years, but in no means will I cheer for him...especially wearing that uniform.

same reason I wont cheer for adam vinateri wearing a colts uniform.

I am a CELTICS fan

I was trying to think of what Ray's legacy here might be.  I suddenly thought of Glen Rice on the Lakers.  In 1999-00 they won a title with him as a key role player (3rd best player).  Then they went on to win two titles without him and people rarely remember that Rice was a key part of that first title.

Only difference is... I don't expect Boston to win any more titles anytime soon... and Ray more than likely will win one or two with Miami.

Hmm... Maybe in this case Boston will be the forgotten Glen Rice and Ray will be the 3 time champion...

Nevermind.

No real celtics fan would say this.
