My two top choices right now are Pietrus and Wilcox.  If we could get Krstic back as well, that would be all the better.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

So Danny waived Chris Wilcox and lost his (non) Bird rights for what? Sean frickin' Williams!

Guh, yuck ... it would be so nice to have more wiggle room in signing (or signing and trading) Chris Wilcox right now.

I would hate to see Krstic re-signed and take all of Stiemsma's minutes.

The big man rotation, outside of Garnett, would be so weak defensively.
Another weak rebounder too.

The good news is that I'm not hearing a lot of buzz about other teams' interest in Chris Wilcox right now.  He might be a relatively easy get for the BAE or even the vet. minimum.  I think the same goes for Mickael.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that no one else swoops in to try to steal either of those guys away.

Get your role players back, Danny.  They want to be Celtics, and we want them back.

Don't let Krstic's poor performance with the C's fool you. He does have a high skillset for a big. I would give him a pass as he dealt with a mid-season trade, a new system, and a significant injury he was playing through. He's only 2 years older than Steimsma. Let's not forget that.

Different players, but Krstic is by far an upgrade over Stiemsma.  Maybe not on the defensive side of the ball, but overall, Krstic is flat out better.

The 2nd unit would be setup quite nicely. Krstic can score, Sullinger can rebound, with Green & Terry playing their roles.  Extremely good bench, especially if Sullinger pans out.  Good options for Doc to run with.

Both Krstic & Wilcox provide safety nets in case Sullinger & Melo aren't ready for the jump.  If Ainge hits on one of those rooks early, watch out.  Scary team if that's the case.

Just posted this in the 'Give Ray's money to Krstic' thread:

I would be really happy with Danny going after a bunch of our free agents that we have the bird rights to since that gives us the best shot at some depth without going over luxury tax threshold.  If I understand this all correctly we currently have 10 players adding up to approximately $54.7 million in salary.

Kevin Garnett (approx $11 million)
Paul Pierce (approx $17 mil)
Rajon Rondo ($11 mil)
Brandon Bass (approx $6.2 mil)
Jason Terry ($5 mil)
Avery Bradley ($1.6 mil)
Jared Sullinger (approx $1.3 mil)
Fab Melo (approx $1.3 mil)
JaJuan Johnson (approx. $1.1 mil)
Kris Joseph (approx $500k)

So that leaves us with approximately $19 mil to spend on retaining our own free agents, the decision about whether to pick up Moore's option ($762,195) by July 22nd, and 5 roster spots to fill.  I think Danny should divide up what we have left under the $74 mil cap on the some of the following players:

Jeff Green ($8 million)
Mickaël Piétrus ($3-4 million)
Nenad Krstić ($4 million)
Chris Wilcox ($2 million)
Greg Stiemsma ($1-2 million)

I'm sure some of my estimated value for the players above might be slightly off but in general that's what we should be looking for.  After that Danny still has the bi-annual exception and minimum wage deals to bolster the line-up with free agents from outside of our team if he doesn't like our own free agents.  With our own free agents back our roster would probably look something like:

Guards:
Rondo, Terry, Bradley, Piétrus

Forwards:
Pierce, Green, Bass, Sullinger, Johnson, Joseph

Centers:
Garnett, Krstić, Stiemsma, Wilcox, Melo

I could certainly live with that to start the season, and then we can always look to see what trades are out there to suit our teams needs as the season develops.

Good post.

I think they need to go with another guard in place of Stiemsma.  I have the same roster, but a guard such as Dooling or Moore in place of Stiemsma.  Unless another good guard could be had in a trade, or sign and trade scenario.

Rondo/Terry
Bradley/Pietrus
Pierce/Green/Joseph
Bass/Sullinger/Johnson
KG/Krstic/Wilcox/Melo

14 in total, with Moore & Dooling fighting it out for that last spot at guard or whomever is invited into camp.

I don't think we need Stiemsma at that point if we have all the bigs I listed above.  Need that guard filler instead.

I wouldn't mind having Krstic back, and with Ray gone I really want Pietrus back.
