He would've gone to Miami at the time of "The Decision when Lebron initially recruited him before Mike Miller.
I've seen Ray in the most trade him for: young athletic player X, trade picks, and random junk threads
In the most he's washed us why don't we trade him for blah blah blah (Until he hits the next big shot...and it ALWAYS happens)
Oh how we forget Ray (deservedly) being in the conversation for Finals MVP
Getting robbed (ironically) for All-Star MVP by Lebron (many on here didn't want to give him that)
Things that going without mentioning: 3-pt record, Finals record for 3-pointers in a series, game, and half.
Him being this team's security blanket in the clutch when the inevitable Paul Pierce iso is well defended...
Countless other great things he's done in Boston.
If the loyalty to Ray is the way it showed up on this blog most of his tenure (not by all I must say but many) here no wonder he is gone.
Ray has always been treated by the "third Wheel" in the Big 3 and then the fourth in the Big 4 with Rondo's rise, even if his importance registers as such the treatment is unfair.
BTW I'd bet money "Ray's replacement" Bradley being from Seattle looks up to Ray. He's from Seattle and Ray was the last great Sonics player
I grew up on the same military base with Ray, lived down the street. graduated the same high school, been associated with his family for years. No I can't call him up and talk to him right now, but I know many people who can. The fact that Ray did this its a surprise, he loved this team and organization. However for him to leave it had to be pretty bad.
My wife likened this to a suburban housewife who did all the right things in the relationship, meanwhile continuously getting marginalized and disrespected in the home as her husband climbs the corporate ladder. He's president of the company and finally when the kids are grown she divorces him and runs off with the young pool boy. Nobody ever sees what led the wife to this.
I hate the Heat and cannot root for them, but I wish Ray the individual and his family well.
People who still respect love Ray I bet you: all his teammates current and former.
